Ella wasn’t aware she was actually being a downer. She was trying oh so very hard to sound excited about Charlie’s plans. She was excited about them to some degree. It was just.. Well the whole Rocky Horror thing, it was a bit scary for Ella. Not that the movie scared her at all. She loved it. It was just, the movie, to be crude, was about sex and well… Sex made Ella uncomfortable. No, she wasn’t a virgin. Though she had only done it once a few years ago so maybe she was a re-virgin by default? The problem for Ella was more about her self confidence then anything else.
Truth be told she didn’t and couldn’t see herself as attractive or even a sexual being. At most, she saw herself as perhaps mildly pretty but that was it. She just didn’t do sexy. Well, in her eyes at least. The Hocky Horror night her best friend was suggesting was all about dressing up sexy and dancing sexy. Two things Ella was really not comfortable with. Two things Charlie would, knowing her discomfort, probably force her to do anyway. The thought was putting a damper on her excitement. That was all. She hadn’t meant to upset the boy at all.
Charlie was a loon. Ella had always been aware of that fact. However he still managed to make her laugh. She liked that about him. It wouldn’t matter her mood, she’d still get a kick out of him. He was good value. “Alright!” She held her hands up in defeat. “We can go drop some dare bombs, as long as you promise not to sprout any more cliché metaphorical sayings. Please, dear god. I cannot take your abuse of the English language much more.” The brunette covered her ears and curled up, as if in physical pain at the words Charlie was sprouting. Of course, she was only teasing him. It was part of her job description as fag-hag to tease him though.
After a moment the youth uncurled herself from the bed. If they were just going to walk around campus, then she wasn’t going to get dressed. Her PJ pants were comfortable. Besides that, they went with her slippers. “We should get some dares written out, ready to leave around.” She smiled, moving over to her desk to get pen and paper. She kind of felt like a perverted Easter bunny, hiding dares everywhere. It was a favourite extra curricular for both Ella and Charlie though, the dare club. Not that they needed a club to dare each other into doing silly things. That came naturally to the pair.
“I love you too Charles.”

Charlie was completely aware of Ella’s discomfort when it came to sex and things that reminded her of sex. They were things he could understand. He remembered well when she came to him after her first time. Never had he liked the slime bag she was with, but he’d offered the guy a chance. It figured that he would do something to his best friend that would affect her for a very long time. It wasn’t fair to Ella at all, and Charlie was sympathetic and understanding. But sometimes he felt like he needed to push her to do things, so she could have fun and not worry about it so much. Rocky Horror would be a comfortable environment. Everyone was welcome and it never mattered what you looked like or even how much clothing you were wearing. And if it was something they were planning, they would be the hosts and could leave out things they were uncomfortable with. Really, he just wanted her to have fun with him and was excited because it was something they could do together.
“Cross my heart,” Charlie locked an arm across his chest and grinned. “Wait - that doesn’t count as one, does it? Ahh! Just give me the paper.” He let his arm fall and stood to follow right behind her, snatching another pen so they could both write dares together. The best part about dare club was that he got to see all the hilarious things they could make people do. Originally, it had only been Ella who was in the dare club, but she quickly inducted Charlie and he took to it fondly. He was never much of a trouble maker back home but this wasn’t something he really considered to be “troublemaking.” It was more like harmless fun. They never made anyone do anything that would get them into serious trouble and the administration knew all about dare club, or at least pretended they did. At very least some of the professors did. It was just funny to see how some people really did want in and would do just about anything to get in. The dares were almost always answered and appropriately done.
“You know what we should do?” Charlie asked, dropping back down onto Ella’s bed so they could write out the dares before they lift. “We should slip one under a certain fashion-friendly boy’s door. It should say something like, ‘Dear Hunter, post nude pictures of yourself on the internet so we can gawk at your hot body, Love E & C.’ Or is that too obvious?” Grinning, he tapped the pen against his knee a couple of times before spouting off another one. “Oh! Or, ‘Dear Hunter, please cover yourself in honey and allow us to lick you clean. Love E & C.’ Oh yeah, I’m just that disgusting.” [/size]

Ella rolled her eyes at the boy. “Yes, that does count as one, but I will forgive you, because I’m nice like that.” Handing the boy some of the paper she had collected, and a pen, Ella made her way back to the bed. It would maybe make more sense to sit at her desk and write, but where was the fun in that? Be much more comfortable on the bed. And more room for Charlie. In fact, Ella rarely used her desk. Even for school work. It was far more comfortable to do things from her bed. Which was a good thing she had a laptop, or there might have been problems with that concept. Although she was sure that somehow, she’d make it work if she had a desk-top.
Settling herself down into the bed once more, She set herself up. Ready to write when a dare idea came to her. Ella’s ideas of dares had always been a little different to Charlie’s. Or anyone for that matter. In fact her dare ideas were different to post people’s. Ella liked to think of dares that promoted good karma. Like leaving random happy thoughts in the library or daring someone to hug randoms. Things that not only took people out of their comfort zone but were good for the soul, not just for a laugh. Things other people would appreciate. I mean, who wouldn’t love finding a post-it in a book telling them they are beautiful?
At Charlie’s suggestion, Ella let out a slight gasp. She could not believe the boy had just said that. “Charles!” She shot him a glare. Cheeks reddening at the very idea of what her best friend was suggesting. There was in hell she was letting Charlie sign his own name to a note like that, let alone hers as well. “That’s not even funny!” She issued him with a few more glare moments. Before returning to look at her own blank page. Cheeks still flushing red. In all seriousness, she knew the suggestion wasn’t exactly serious. However you can’t really expect Ella to not react with moral outrage. If she didn’t, she just wouldn’t be Ella.
Biting her cheek, Ella started to draw a small heart on the corner of her paper. “Besides…” She started softly. Her cheeks flaring up again. “I don’t even like him like that…” Of course, that was something of a lie, and she was more then certain Charlie knew it, but still. It didn’t hurt to at least try and deny things. She often denied things when it came to romantic feelings around Charlie. He often liked to force her into acting on those feelings. Which wasn’t cool at all.

Of course Charlie wasn’t serious. Although it seemed rather amusing and potentially hot he wasn’t going to dare Hunter Shaw to do anything. Yeah, the boy was damn fine and Charlie would jump at the chance to be all up in that cup of kool-aid but it was awkward and not at all the way one went about seeing someone naked. No, that was just skeevy and not at all fair to the person being dared. Besides, nothing said Hunter had to do what the dare asked of him, which was the downfall of every dare. He’d mostly said it to make Ella blush, which worked quite well. He’d always enjoyed teasing her about guys she found attractive. Mostly because her reactions were amazing. Ella never missed a beat. If Charlie made a jab she responded, shying away from the subject or blushing and scolding him for bringing it up. It always made him laugh and a good laugh was something Charlie enjoyed being able to invest in, even if meant poking fun at his best friend from time to time.
As for Hunter Shaw, well… how could he resist? Usually he didn’t go for guys whose sexuality he wasn’t completely sure of, as he’d had his share of mishaps in the past, but the boy was just too damn gorgeous to ignore. Besides, there was no way in hell he was straight. Even if Ella believed he was, Charlie was completely under the impression that Hunter liked men. Yes, he’d met male fashion majors who were straight, but there was just something about Hunter. He had that extra flair, or whatever you were supposed to call it. Charlie had tagged him as a fellow gay from the beginning. It caused tiny debates between himself and Ella but he stood firmly by his decision. This was also something new. Charlie and Ella never usually went for the same guys, mostly because Charlie was rather keen on knowing if his target did or did not bat for his team.
“Oh shut up, it is so funny!” Charlie argued back, grinning big and leaning against his friend’s side. The silly dares were Charlie’s favorite but he often enjoyed the ones Ella wrote too. They were kind and written to make people smile. He liked that about her, how she did things to better people, even through silly things like dares. Where Charlie was looking for a cheap thrill in the form of naked boys. “And you so do. He’s good looking and nice too. I’d make a hot-boy sandwich out of that man, for sure.” Letting out a low whistle, he dug his elbow into Ella’s side lightly before he took to writing on the paper. Just an old dare they’d used a dozen times. Removing staples from staplers, hiding erasers and ink pens. Things for the less daring.
“Admit it, you would so be all over that.”
