independent. clever. opinionated.
Name: Olivia Ingrid Dawson
Nickname(s): Liv
Degree: English
Major: Classic Literature
Minor: Writing
Age: Nineteen
Grade: Sophomore
Birthdate: 13th of September
Orientation: Straight
Location: Portland, Oregon
`Appearance !
Olivia is quite pretty, but she sees herself as plain. She has a heart-shaped face with a wide forehead and prominent cheek bones. Her nose is thin and her jaw is narrow with a pointed chin. Olivia has quite a fair colored skin tone. Even if she tried to tan she would get sun burnt and then become pale again, so she's given up completely on trying to tan and refuses to use fake tan because she thinks it'll all turn out wrong and she'll end up looking like an Oompa Loompa.
She has long brown hair that is almost never tied up. She doesn't really do anything to style in on a daily basis, usually just running a brush through her long locks is enough to give her a look she's happy with. Olivia has eyes that are of a light green shade most of the time, but they tend to vary in color depending on the lighting. Her lips are of a unique kind, they are full, but at the same time are thinned out, making her facial appearance look rather delicate.
Her height stands at around 5'4, making her slightly short for her age, but it hasn't really fussed her too much. Olivia is not skinny nor fat, but has a nice healthy figure, despite the fact that she has never really been a sporty person or one to take notice of her eating habits. She eats whatever she wants and never seems to gain any weight because she has a high metabolism.
Olivia is definitely someone who prefers comfort over fashion and will only dress up with heels and all that on special occasions. She has a casual style, but likes to go for a vintage glam/rock kind of look every now and then. She loves shopping for her clothes at vintage stores and is very picky when shopping in chain stores because she always knows that she can find similar clothing cheaper by buying clothes second hand.

Best Feature: "Er...I don't know, I guess the shape of my face is nice? My eyes are a nice color too?"
Worst Feature: "My ears, they stick out too much for my liking."
`Personality !
independent.
Independence is definitely one of Olivia's more dominating qualities. Olivia is an only child that has been raised by her single mother who is just like a best friend. They've had it tough with financial situations and such so Olivia has learned to develop a sense of independence and has gotten to the point where she is the one looking after her mother at times, when she is supposed to be the daughter. She tends to use her independence in all other life situations as well. She rarely asks for help, even when she needs it, but will resentfully give in if she see's no other way of getting through a certain situation. However, when it comes to helping others, she'll be one of the first ones to offer assistance. That is, if she likes you.
clever.
Olivia possess various different types of cleverness that will either impress or annoy you. She has always been successful at school, with straight A's as her grade average in the subjects that she enjoyed over the years, but she has never been a teacher's pet. Learning is just one of her strengths. In high school her favorite subjects were literature and art, thus making her a very creative person. The other cleverness that she possesses, is a type of cleverness that tends to be expressed when she's in a social situation. Her cleverness gives Olivia the ability to read people and out wit them if she has to. She can tell when someone is being fake or not telling the truth, which can be helpful or completely annoying to different people.
opinionated.
Olivia is the kind of girl who has her opinions and is not afraid to express them. If she feels passionately about something, she will choose to open her mouth and explain how she feels about the topic, unless that topic is about her. However, if she feels her opinions won't help the situation in the slightest, she'll choose to keep her mouth shut, not wanting to waste her time arguing with someone who can't understand where she's coming from or someone who chooses to argue with her simply for a reaction.

Positive Traits:
compassionate.
Although Olivia comes off as not much of a people person, she can actually be very compassionate towards others. However, if (for whatever reason) she doesn't believe you deserve her compassion, she simply won't give it. She's displays the most compassion to her friends and family (people who she has learned to trust), but can also feel compassion towards strangers. For example: If someone drops their books in the hall, she'll be the first to make a move to pick them up, despite what others may think.
loyal.
If you've got Olivia's trust, she'll be there for you for life. There's no breaking the loyalty that Olivia has for those she cares about. However, if you break that trust, that loyalty disappears. There's not much to it really.
rational.
It takes alot to make Olivia freak out. When facing a problem, Olivia is usually cool, calm and collected. She will face the problem head on in a mature manner and do what needs to be done to make the problem go away. Her sensible manner when dealing with problems tends to make a good example on others who might be freaking out a little too much.
Negative Traits:
lacks trust with males.
It takes quite a bit to gain Olivia's full trust, especially if you're a male. She doesn't mind befriending males (in fact she enjoys it), it's just getting her to trust them on a romantic level will take a bit of effort. All her life she has watched males in her life come and go, starting with her father, followed by her mothers list of relationships gone wrong that have left her mother heart broken. She's had her fair share of heartbreak too after her boyfriend (now ex) of two years cheated on her back in high school.
guarded.
If she can avoid it, Olivia likes to refrain from displaying her emotions or talking about her feelings at all costs. Even if she trusts you with this vital information, it still makes her awkward to talk about herself in that way. In some ways, Olivia is very insecure about herself, after who she thought was love of her life cheated on her, it made her feel like she wasn't good enough for anyone after that. She pretends like it hasn't effected her, when in reality it has, she only hopes that she finds someone that will love her for exactly who she is.
pessimistic.
By saying that Olivia is pessimistic, it doesn't mean she's pessimistic all the time. But in some situations, whether she can help it or not, she tends to identify the worst outcome of the situation. When she does this, she may or may not believe that the worst outcome will actually happen, but she merely states (whether it be in her head or out loud) the chance of it happening. Her negativity tends to put bad ideas into other peoples heads, which can get on peoples nerves at times.
Greatest Ambition:
To become a famous author, find her place in life and to travel the world and write about her adventures.
Greatest Fear:
Dying alone, failing at life and seeing her loved ones get hurt or worse.
`History !
Olivia Ingrid Dawson was born on the 13th of September nineteen years ago to Mark Palmer and Bethany Dawson. Olivia's parents were never married, they dated for a few months when they were Olivia's age. They were a young couple living in Jacksonville, Florida and thought they were in love, Olivia was the result, their love child, so to speak.
When Olivia's father realized that her mother was pregnant, he became scared. Scared to raise a child, scared to start a family at such a young age, so he backed out of the relationship when Olivia's mother had told him that she wanted to keep the baby. He left, Beth was heartbroken and outraged, but she moved on none the less, literally and metaphorically.
Olivia's soon-to-be-grandparents took their pregnant daughter under their wings, moving her into their own home in Portland, Oregon (on the other side of the country, much to Beth's delight) to be there for her for when the baby was due. Nine months later Beth gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, who immediately brought hope and joy into her life.
After Olivia was born, Beth's parents assisted her and their new granddaughter in finding a nice apartment for the two of them to live in, making sure that it was close by in their neighborhood so that they were always on the look out if they ever needed assistance. As Olivia began to get older, she grew up well, surrounded by people that loved her. Her mother began to date again, but never really lasted very long in a relationship when she brought them home to meet Olivia. They obviously weren't prepared to help raise a child.
As Olivia entered elementary school, it was clear that she was a bright young child whose independence shined through, even at that age. When the girls in her grade were playing jump rope, she was reading a book or beating the boys at marbles. She was her own person. She had very few people that she called friends, because she was different, but had a good time with the ones that had managed to befriend her none the less. She was now old enough to comfort her mother whenever yet another one of her relationships had failed. Most of the time, Olivia handled it better than her mother did.
During middle school Olivia lacked confidence from being pushed around by bullies that picked on her for living a different life style and being a different person. It was plain to see that she wasn't popular, but she was her own person and she was happy with that and the friends that she had. It was just the confidence that she wished she had more of to get her through situations like standing up for herself when people tried to pull her down, the popular girls in particular. Her intelligence continued to grow and she was one of the smartest in her class, much to her mother and teachers delights.
In high school she began gaining more confidence within herself after she managed to stand up to the bullies that had pushed her around in middle school. Her cleverness and maturity had shut them down, thus boosting her confidence level to where it needed to be. Her excellent grades continued and even her popularity began to grow, especially when she began dating Cooper Stone in the middle of her sophomore year. Cooper had earned himself a bit of a reputation as a player, but Olivia had foolishly allowed him to charm her. The two dated for about two years and Olivia had convinced herself that she was in love with him. She only realized how foolish she had been, when she caught him on a date with another girl. Apparently he liked to have a few girlfriends at once.
As the end of high school was something that Olivia wanted to forget, Olivia was thrilled that she got accepted into SBU on a scholarship. Now in her sophomore year, Olivia is really enjoying being able to focus on something she passionate about rather than the drama of high school and relationships. Although, perhaps fresh drama is just around the corner for Miss Dawson?

Best Memory:
Standing up to the bullies that had picked on her in middle school, as well as gaining more confidence within herself in general.
Worst Memory:
Discovering that she had been played by Cooper. She had been heartbroken, but most of all she felt foolish that she had not seen it coming.
