i already know what you are
i already know what you are
Chesiree walked into the ballet studio, her feet making soft thuds on the floor as she crossed the room. It was 5:45, Chessy's 'dance time'. This was the room she came into every night, at the same time, just to keep her skills polished. That's what she was at the university for, anyway. Chesiree was also planning on trying out for A Mid summer Nights Dream, just another reason for her to practice. The thought of it produced butterflies in her stomache. How she loved to perform. Chesiree smiled. Nothing could compare to the adrenaline rush she got from being up on stage. It was the best feeling in the world.
Chesiree sat down on the floor to lace up her torn up, dirty ballet shoes. These were the ones she practiced in, and they were so worn down that nothing could get the brown dirt stains out, no matter how hard she tried. Chess smiled as she looked down at the toes of her shoes. They were totally ripped up. She made a mental note to get a new pair this week. If she used these much longer you would be able to see her toes. The brunette stood up and did some warm up exercises, and stretched a little bit. After touching her toes a couple time, she stood up and found herself face to face with her own reflection. Chesiree was clad in short PINK shorts, and a white tank top, with her hair in a loose bun at the top of her head, the way she always wore it when she rehearsed. After a second of thinking, Chessy started to move gracefully throughout the room.
The series of delicate steps, leaps, and pauses were close to flawless, as she knew this routine by heart. It was her favorite, but not one she usually did on a daily basis. Her body moved in time to the music she was humming in her head, and the routine she knew so well started transforming into random dance steps, until she was just making everything up as she went. Chesiree smirked everytime she caught a glimpse of herself in the wall of mirrors that lined the side of the rehearsal room. She was getting so much better, even just improvising movements, it looked good. Great, even. Chessy was proud of herself. This college was really paying off well.
Chesiree stopped and crossed the room to her pink Blackberry Curve cellphone, and looked at the time. Damnit. She thought to herself, time had passed fast, it was already 7:15, and she had a ton of things to do when she got back to her room. Chessy pulled her grey sweatshirt over her head, and stuck the phone in her pocket. She quickly untied her ballet shoes and slipped on pink flip-flops, when she subtly noticed something else. It was dark out, it was gonna be freezing when she got outside. Oh well, she had nothing else to put on, and it was only a short walk to Brennen Hall from here anyway. Chesiree crossed the room once more, humming the tune she had danced to. She quickly opened the wooden door and stepped out into the carpeted hallway of the O Block. She could hear faint noises of the drama students rehearsing, and music from the other dance studio's. Still humming, Chesiree continued down the hallway.
