Name: Hunter Caspian Shaw
Nickname(s): n/a
Degree: Art
Major: Fashion
Minor: Commercial Design
Age: 19
Grade: Sophomore
Birthdate: April 2, 1989
Orientation: Homosexual
Location: New York, New York
`Appearance !
:: Head ::
Hunter likes to pretend his eyes can change color with his mood or the lighting or whatever clothing he chooses. Obviously they do not. Nonetheless, the boy won't give anyone a straight answer should they ask him what color his eyes are. His driver's license lists the 'official' color as blue, but that's simply because 'the color of the sky before a heavy rainstorm' wouldn't fit in the tiny box. His hair is dark and always, always kept neat. Though some people enjoy the 'scruffy' look, Hunter simply cannot stand to feel messy. His hair is kept neatly trimmed. The general facial structure is built seriously. The cheekbones and jaw are both well-carved, and his thin lips works in conjunction with his eyes to make him look perpetually facetious.
:: Body ::
The boy's on the skinny side, but he's careful not to put it on display. He's not spectacularly tall, but holds his own at five foot eleven, though he wouldn't complain about another inch or five. His shoulders are somewhat too broad, which throws off the otherwise balanced proportions, though, again, the right clothes can easily hide it. Hunter doesn't put all that much effort in maintaining his body, as he really doesn't spend all that much time naked. If he's never going to show it off, why bother buffing up? As long as he doesn't suddenly gain twenty pounds, he's happy.
:: Style ::
Being ahead of the fashions is rather important to the boy. Even though it may seem shallow, looks are a big deal. He generally keeps himself ahead of the style. He's a huge believer in less-is-more, so he never tries to be noticed. Instead, he keeps everything simple, clean, and sharp, because it goes with his personality. He tries to pick clothes that exude confidence, but not arrogance; nonchalance, but not carelessness. As a result, he's never really completely casual. Even in the privacy of his own home, he would never pick up a pair of sweatpants. He even sleeps in a set of 'at-home clothes,' that he wears so his day clothes don't get wrinkled.

Best Feature: "My eyes, as cliché as that sounds. People never believe me when I say they can change colors, but they can. I know it. Anyways, even if they didn't, I like how people can't tell what I'm thinking. I don't want everyone to be able to probe around my brain just because my eyes are too emotive."
Worst Feature: "My smile. Or even my entire face. I always look so damn smug. Seriously, everyone takes one look at me and decides that I'm some sort of rich jackass. That is definitely not me, and I have no idea how to fix it without complete reconstructive surgery."
`Personality !
:: Reserved ::
The boy isn't much when it comes to social situations. He's by no means a loner, but he certainly doesn't make much of an effort to reach out. Honestly, he's a friendly fellow, but when it comes to strangers, Hunter tends to sink into his own shell. It's perfectly natural; he's just shy, but it sometimes appears to be standoffish. As a result, the boy had had trouble making friends. Nonetheless, those who know him well enough will tell you that he's just not talkative.
:: Reflective ::
Hunter's one of those kid's that you see just staring off into space. He does quite a lot of deep thinking for someone so young. It's not even restricted to one subject. Sometimes, he's just thinking about the universe in general. He doesn't really have a great filter on that sort of thing, so sometimes, he'll just spout out something seemingly random. It's sort of strange talking with him, because one feels as if they need to be inside his head to truly understand what the fuck he's saying. He's not some sort of new-age spiritual guru or anything, though. The boy's perfectly capable of holding a normal conversation; it's just if you happen to catch in one of those moods.
:: Responsible ::
Hunter's always been the sort of child that you'd want your kids hanging about. He's just such a good kid, always telling the truth, being polite, and keeping everyone else in line. Most of all, though, the boy is always takes charge. Everything always got done with this one. He never goes back on his promises and will be more than willing to take the fall for a friend. The downside of all this would be that he has the habit of expecting the same from everyone else. Many friendships had suffered because Hunter's friends were unaware of this expectation.

Positive Traits:
+ Self-esteem has never been an issue for Hunter. He somehow manages to toe the line between confident and arrogant without ever crossing it. It's the sort of thing that rubs off on anyone near him.
+ The boy has this weird ability to put your feelings into the perfect words. It really helps put things into context for everyone, and things just suddenly become clearer.
+ Hunter's a very dependable person. He'll always come through, even if it's the absolute last second. Promises mean an incredible amount to the boy, and the idea of going back on his word is tantamount to treason for him.
Negative Traits:
- The boy's simply too quiet He'll often assumes you know something, so he won't bring it up. Words ought to be used efficiently, after all. Unfortunately, quite a lot of the time, he ends up not pointing out a fatal flaw that no one else has realized.
- Always the idealist, Hunter doesn't really get that not everyone can be trusted to handle certain tasks. He simply always assumes that everything will go according to plan.
- Ever since he was a child, Hunter has always been fiercely self-reliant. For this reason, he sometimes has trouble accepting help from others, even when it's exceedingly clear that he can't take on a job by himself.
Greatest Ambition: Surprisingly, it has nothing to do with his career. Hunter's pretty certain that he'll end up successful. He simply wants someone with whom he can share the success. Always a hopeless romantic, he believed that life isn't much without love. Still, it's a long term goal, so the boy won't really by bothered by it now.
Greatest Fear: It's so corny, but rejection. Hunter is deathly afraid of rejection. No one can figure out why, either. He didn't have anything close to a traumatic childhood nor has he shown abandonment issues. Either way, Hunter has issues with getting serious with anyone.
`History !
The occupants of the third floor had been worried that 3B was going to be vacant forever. It'd remained empty for three years after old Miss Lyra Kipling passed away. It wasn't good to have an empty apartment on your floor. People would start talking, and stories would get around. Before you knew it, everyone would be thinking that 3B was haunted or something equally ridiculous. Then, the third floor would suddenly become pariahs.
Luckily, just as the rumors had started to stir up, a young couple, Liam Shaw and Wendy Trent rented out the space. Then, a new buzz filled the building. The couple weren't married, and they had a child, Hunter. Now, it wasn't as if the other residents hadn't ever heard of this concept before, but they'd simply never seen such a family up close. What's more, they let the boy run wild throughout the building. What sort of parents were these folks anyways? Were they really fit to take care of a child? Suddenly, everyone was talking about the residents of 3B, claiming all sorts of strange things about the parents and their son.
This might've gone on if Nora Jenson, the widow who lived right next door to Liam and Wendy put a stop to it. She actively threatened to reveal the secrets anyone spreading rumors about her neighbors. Now that Lyra had gone, Nora was the oldest tenant in the building, and no one wanted to mess with her. Over the years, she had accumulating dirty laundry on everyone. So, there was no more whispering, though no one wanted to associate themselves with the new couple.
That was perfectly alright with the residents of the third floor, who'd been similarly rejected after defending the family. They hadn't wanted to be shunned just for having an empty apartment on their floor, but they certainly weren't willing to be accepted at the expense of other residents. They often supported Liam and Wendy in any way possible. Hunter, who was quickly becoming the floor's sweetheart, was also making way with his neighbors. During his infant and toddler years he spent an equal amount of time in each of his neighbors' apartments as his own. There were a few kids his own age to play with, but the adults were just as entertaining.
School, however, proved to be troublesome for the boy. Having found entertainment in some rather unorthodox manners such as day long rides on the subway, Hunter had trouble relating to other kids. Instead, he sat quietly in the corner and studied the picture books. His reading level greatly excelled. At home, he eagerly showed off his reading skills to the neighbors, but he was completely unresponsive to other children at school. The teachers were beginning to get worried, but every time they phoned the parents, a different babysitter would pick up and inform them that Liam and Wendy weren't available and could they take a message. Finally, they simply gave up, deciding that Hunter seemed to be quite happy alone.
Unfortunately, the boy would soon find that middle school wasn't going to be nearly as forgiving. Sitting alone at lunch meant you were something of a social outcast, and this somehow gave everyone permission to pick on you. Not wanting to worry any of his neighbors, Hunter didn't say anything. One day, however, when he came home without his watch, a beloved birthday present from the entire floor, Nora began questioning him. At first, Hunter lied and said he'd lost it, but the old woman simply wasn't buying. Finally, after some pressing, she got the truth. It had been stolen by a classmate. Furious, she made a phone call, and the next day, Hunter's watch was returned. After this incident, Nora told the boy that he was going to have to work on his social skill, if for no reason other than just to make some friends for protection. She began training the boy.
Well, Hunter was a good student, for he soon found himself with a small group of friends, and just as the old woman had said, he was no longer picked on. What's more, he actually found that he liked having friends. It was nice to have someone to talk to outside of the building. His neighbors were nice and all, but the boy couldn't very well live in that building all his life.
High school was much better, as Hunter's newly honed social skills had more room to develop. He was still quiet, though some girls actually found this to be attractive. He had a few dates, though it never quite worked out. It's difficult to pinpoint the point when the boy realized exactly why his relationships never lasted. It took a bit to work up the courage, but he came out to his parents, then the entire third floor. It was much less dramatic than they made it out to be in movies. Everyone just nodded and smiled and congratulated him if he had received some sort of award. Well, he wasn't going to complain if they didn't freak out. His friends seemed to be equally unperturbed by this realization. Hunter didn't bother telling anyone else outside of this little circle, though, somehow, word still got out. It wasn't too big a deal, as most people didn't care enough to bother him. The few individuals that did didn't really matter. Besides, he had enough people standing behind him that there would be no point in being afraid.
High school seemed to fly by after that point. Before he knew it, the boy was packing his bags for Seattle. Obviously, he was sad to leave everyone, but they'd all insisted he go on and follow his dream, even if it didn't include staying in New York. Grateful and reassured, Hunter boarded his plane and landed in Seattle three hours later. He settled into the stride of college easily, and found himself some friends without trouble. He kept constant contact with the residents of the third floor, however, sending them updates on his college experience. They were glad to hear form him, but told him he didn't need to keep them so up-to-date. The point of college was to explore, after all. Obediently, Hunter limited his contact to four times a year, plus visits. He was a bit reluctant to let go of his old life at first, but moving on proved easier than expected. There was a whole new world before him, and he was going to explore every bit of it.

Best Memory: "God, I really don't know how I answer that one. Well, I suppose it would be the first time I rode the subway. I literally took the train all the way to the end of the line in Queens, then all the way back. I met so many interesting people, and it really reminded me that we're all connected. Eventually, I made a pass time out of it, and I spent entire days on the train."
Worst Memory: "Sex ed in high school. They put all of the 'different' kids in one class, 'cause they wanted to give us 'a specialized environment.' God, I could deal with the comments from other students, but to have to listen to adults tell me about the STDs and abstinence. Like I was some sort of pervert with only one thing on my mind. Ugh, and I really don't know how much longer I could've dealt with the whole 'Homosexual men are X times more likely to get AIDS' speech. For fuck's sake, I don't need you to lecture me!"
