Charles Stewart was not the kind of guy who considered Oreos to be good cookies. Yes, Oreo were cookies and yes, they tasted food, but they were mostly reserved for ice cream topping in Charlie’s book. He was much more fond the hot, gooey, soft and breakable chocolate chip cookies he could get reasonably priced at the bakery along the way to the park from his dorm. He knew the owners pretty well, as they often let Charlie sit outside and play his guitar. He’d gotten his busking license awhile back and used it as often as he could. Mostly for practice or just for spare change. And, of course, to have something to do when his friends were all busy. It was a lot of fun to sit outside on the busy Seattle streets and sing and play guitar for strangers. It always helped that usually a few people would stop and watch him play. Charlie loved having an audience, even if he wasn’t fond of his own singing voice.
That was probably why the boy, who had just arrived with a box of fresh cookies and his guitar, didn’t hesitate to pull the instrument out of it’s case. He was supposed to be waiting for Amelia but whoever said he couldn’t entertain himself while doing so? He had made an effort to see if she was there first, of course, before commandeering a bench to wait. His guitar sat across his needs, arm slung over it so he could reach the strings, the other placed appropriately on the neck where it belonged. It was rare for Charlie to play any of his own songs while he was playing for people he didn’t know. Mostly because he assumed people would want to hear songs of their own and also because he wasn’t a very big fan of most of the lyrics he’d written himself. Voice and lyrics were Charlie’s weak points. Second guessing himself never really helped his case either. Besides, sometimes it was fun to just play a song he knew other people would enjoy.
“Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,”
Yes, Charlie had his favorites. And if asked he could probably tell every song he knew by heart and the ones he was working on learning. He’d devised acoustic versions of a lot of Beatles songs for ones he couldn’t already find, as he was actually rather good at composing his own music for both guitar and piano, though he was much stronger with the former. “They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe. Pools of sorrow, waves of joy, are drifting through my open mind possessing and caressing me.” He’d also figured out a lot of songs by a little band called Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s. Charlie’s mental catalog of songs was not at all thin, he just had ones he preferred over others. ___________________________ - Amelia! aka Larnie. lyrics ! - "Across The Universe" - The Beatles word count ! - 498 muse ! - Uhhh, ATU. ooc ! - Sorry, this is kinda sucky.[/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Amelia's seemingly endless energy was definitely a trait of hers that she was known for among her friends and family. Her energetic, bubbly nature meant her mood would constantly change depending on what she was feeling. Earlier during the day Amelia woken up uninspired, thus causing her to feel bored and unmotivated. Luckily for her, she had ran into one of her good friends, Charlie when she decided to enter a chat room on the Internet in the course of attempting to cure her boredom. Charlie had been apparently as bored as she was and she had managed to convince him to be her model for a photo shoot that she had impulsively decided would happen this afternoon.
Fortunately for Amelia, this impulsive photo shoot had snapped her inspiration right back into her and she suddenly felt enthusiastic about her day. She was really looking forward to it. Not only was she excited to see her friend, it also thrilled her to know that she had a different male model to work with. Amelia's visual arts teacher had informed her, that while her photos of her boyfriend, Jackson were excellent, she needed a little more variety. Amelia never found it difficult to find female models, but most of the males that she did know were hesitant when she asked them, even if they were extremely good looking. Amelia didn't know why her male friends acted like that, so she just passed it off as a guy thing. She was just pleased that she had managed to convince Charlie to model for her and noted to herself that she definitely owed him after this.
Amelia wandered into Myrtle Edwards Park happily, carrying her professional photographers backpack on her shoulders. She tended to be over prepared when it came to her photo shoots, but that didn't fuss her in the slightest. Amelia liked to make sure she was organized, making sure she brought at least her digital SLR, tripod and two or more lenses for her camera in case she wanted to achieve different effects in her photos. On the way to the park, Amelia had picked up a bottle of Coke and some paper cups to contribute to the little picnic that she and Charlie were apparently having. Not being able to resist, Amelia had also bought some frosted cupcakes for them to share. When it came to snacks, Amelia enjoyed the kinds of food that reminded her of her childhood. When she consumed this food, it was like time stopped for a moment, allowing her to stop and reflect on the good old days when she still wore pigtails.
It didn't take Amelia long to find Charlie sitting on a bench within the park. Even from a distance, she could see him strumming away on his guitar, causing her to smile enthusiastically at the image, pleased to see that Charlie was already in his element. Without another thought, Amelia removed her backpack from her shoulders where she was standing and retrieved her camera. After placing her backpack back on her shoulders, she placed the strap of her camera around her neck as she began to approach Charlie slowly, careful not to make a sound as she wanted to capture Charlie in his natural state.
As soon as Amelia was close enough, she began adjusting her lens to zoom in onto her friend, stopping in her tracks to take several shots of him playing his guitar. She snapped about five shots swiftly, trying five different angles. Amelia grinned broadly, pleased that she had taken the shots that she wanted to achieve to start the photo shoot off. After she let her camera droop around her neck she began to clap after Charlie had stopped making music, pleased that she had made it in time to be Charlie's audience. "These photos are going to be worth alot one day if you continue playing music like that." Amelia commented playfully as she moved closer towards the bench Charlie was sitting on and took a seat next to him, her grin still beaming. "I think I may be witnessing the next rock god in the making." She added, taking off her backpack and placing it on the ground next to her. Though her tone was playful, her words were truthful. Charlie was a marvelous musician, which made Amelia know that he would make it big some day.

Maybe, just maybe, Charlie had underestimated the amount of time he had before Amelia would arrive. Not that he minded, of course, as he loved performing for his friends. In fact, if Charlie had had a choice, he would much prefer an audience of his friends to an audience of people who were going to ear apart his music because they didn’t understand him. It sounded a bit silly, but was at the same time one of Charlie’s biggest fears. What if he was ever placed in a situation where he was supposed to be playing for a large group of people and in the end no one got anything out of it because said audience was a large group of Betties and Alfreds who were way too far out of his generation to click? An irrational fear it was and Charlie would cop to that but the thought was still scary. He hoped he was never in the park for the rest of his life. He never g in the park for the rest of his life. He never wanted music to become anything other than something that made him happy, he was afraid that once it did he wouldn’t want anything to do with it anymore.
Music was obviously Charlie’s passion in life or he wouldn’t be majoring in it. And while he knew he was destine to become a music teacher, or something along those lines, he wasn’t the kind of guy to bottle up his dreams and cast them away because they might not come true. Making it big would be kind of cool, he would admit, but he wasn’t banking on it either. That didn’t mean he couldn’t let his mind wander, which is often what happened when he was playing, especially when he didn’t think anyone was around. The grass would turn to stadium seats and the chatter of people walking around the park would become the always cheering and adoring fans. It was a fabulous thing to have an imagination and this particular scenario that Charlie so very often dreamt up was the whole reason he hadn’t noticed Amelia sneak up on him and snap pictures. But once she had made herself known, Charles was very obviously embarrassed, even though he had no reason to be. His cheeks lit up bright red and he shook his head, looking down at the ground before back up at her, recovering fast. “Shut up - and hey, you didn’t even give me a chance to pose! I could’ve like… taken off my shirt and flexed and then rain would magically pour from the sky and soak my hot bod… or something.”
Wrinkling up his nose and letting out a small laugh, Charlie turned to face the girl who had just taken a seat on the bench. Now, of course Charlie knew that Amelia’s photo shoots weren’t about cheesy poses and rock hard god-like bodies. If they were, she certainly wouldn’t have asked Charlie if she could take pictures of him. He was much too goofy to sit still and pose seriously for even half a second. “Didn’t even get past the first verse and the paparazzi is already attacking,” he grinned, settling the guitar down into it’s case for the time being so he could pick up the box of cookies. “Want one? They’re still warm.” And warm cookies were always the best. Instead of waiting for her to answer, he took one for himself and put the box back down, leaving it open for Amelia to help herself. Unable to wait for the gooey, warm treat he broke the cookie in half and took a bite of the half that had more chocolate chips in it, chewing and swallowing before he reached out to give Amelia a one-armed hug, cookie still in hand. “How’re you?” ___________________________ - Amelia! aka Larnie. lyrics ! - "Weightless” - All Time Low word count ! - 640 muse ! - Head Automatica ooc ! - He‘s a goof.[/ul] [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Amelia considered herself to be a very reliable person the majority of the time, which was something that came along with the compassionate side of her personality. Having those qualities meant that if she had arranged to meet somewhere with a friend, she would allocated herself enough time to travel to the destination so that she would arrive a little bit early or precisely on the time arranged previously. Her close friends tended to appreciate her reliable nature, even if Amelia had an endless amount of energy that they could barely keep up with. Thankfully, her close friends had gotten used to her little quirks by now. Charlie being one of them.
Like music was Charlie's passion, there was no doubt that photography was Amelia's. She was quite fond of fashion too, but it was something about photography that made it her favorite way to express herself. Amelia loved the way a simple photo could make others aware of things that they failed to truly look at in real life. In many ways, snapping photos through a camera lens was Amelia's way of escaping the real world that she sometimes struggled to connect to. It allowed her to escape to her imagination for a short while, just for a few hours, until she was ready to enter the real world again. Portrait photography was one of her favorite types of photography because it allowed Amelia to gather more of an understanding as to who that person was. Spontaneous photos of her subjects allowed Amelia to enter their world for a little while, which proved to be all the more exciting for her by the amount of variety she got by organizing photo shoots with others.
Amelia's smile lingered as she listened to Charlie's reply. She noticed his little moment of embarrassment, but ceased from making fun of him because that's just wasn't who Amelia was, despite the fact that she had found him rather amusing. "This isn't a porno shoot, Charlie." Amelia replied with a laugh as she raised her eyebrows playfully, glad that Charlie was no longer embarrassed by her presence. "However, I do apologize for interrupting you, I'll remember to hide in the bushes until you finish the song next time." She added humorously, enjoying this light hearted banter being shared between herself and her friend.
"Thank you." Amelia replied in a cheerful, polite tone as Charlie offered her a cookie. The cookies that Charlie had bought both looked at smelt delicious, so Amelia couldn't possibly resist. As Charlie set the box down, Amelia immediately reached towards it to grab herself a cookie and took a bite. She closed her eyes for a moment to savor the taste, then opened them again, pleased that that Charlie had such a great taste in food. Amelia leaned her side against Charlie briefly as he gave her a one armed hug as she finished off her current mouthful of food before she answered Charlie's question.
"Was bored, now my day has improved exceedingly. I can't be sure it's because of the fact I have something productive to do with my day or because of these delicious cookies." Amelia answered pleasantly as she took another bite of her cookie before fetching the cupcakes that she had bought and placing them on the bench. "Help yourself. I also have some Coke in my bag if you get thirsty." She offered, enjoying the company of Charlie already.
