one day you will look behind you and see we three me Zez sighed deeply as she tossed her messenger bag on the cushy couch, the books inside slamming together in the most menacing of ways. She cringed as she opened the flap and pulled out her favorite DVD; The Boondock Saints. With a contented sigh, the girl stood erect and moved lithely to the DVD player. She quickly powered up the machine and dropping in the disc. She bounded over to the couch once more and flicked the power button on the remote. Not wasting time with the credits, Zez skipped to the disc menu and selected play. Now and only now was she ready to open up her math book.
Plopping down on the plush couch, Zez pulled out her Algebra book and flipped to the next assignment. In the back of her mind she admonished herself for not paying attention to this crap in high school. She could have been out of this math class and onto the next but as it stood, she just sucked at math. So, sighing again, Z pulled out a sheet of paper and placed her name at the top with a sprawling script.
While the words on her Sixth Edition College Algebra book loomed at her, Zezrae read them over and over. She needed to understand this stuff. She needed to get it and while she was reading, she just wasn’t getting it. Content in the fact that there were answers in the back of the book, she turned to the actual problems. If maybe she could get one or two she had hope that she was retaining a bit of the information she was reading about linear equations. So when she checked her work after the first five problems, Zez was disheartened by the fact that she was going to have erase everything she had just done.
Now was the time to kick herself for not going to the math lab tutors when they were open. Now was the time to lift her head and listen to the characters on the big screen TV. Now was the time to give herself a break. Five minutes, she promised herself, and then she would be back to trying this damned work again.

Stop and look Time is of little essence
Just try to make her happy
"Why do I always do this?" Eden grumbled as she stared down at the thick math book between her fingers. Despite her major, the school had mentioned something about having ‘well rounded’ students, so this math class was a little less than optional.
As she pouted her way down the stairs, it didn't take long for Eden to find the cold room. See, she figured that she could at least pretend to do work for ten minutes before playing massive amounts of pinball and counting how many times she won. Counting, right? That's math. Her justification seemed more than perfect in her head. Besides, it wasn't as if she'd ever have to use the quadratic equation outside of this math class. She wanted to make films. She didn't want to become an accountant.
She hopped down the stairs, the pitter patter of black laced up combat boots sounding through the room. She landed, on both feet, on the last stair. With a grin, she looked up, expecting the room to be empty.
Her smile fell just as fast as it had risen. Her eyebrows knitted together as she cocked her head to the side. It was later than normal for people to be frequenting the cold room, so her emotions weren't entirely unjust. Eden fingered her high ponytail before parting her lips, "Hello." It was said curiously as she walked towards the other, stopping only when she was directly next to the couch. "I didn't expect anyone else to be down here," she mused, the smile returning.
She may have been caught off-guard, but a rare occasion was the one that found Eden anything less than hospitable.
Eden scratched the back of her head, before giving the girl a once-over. She bit the corner of her lip. Her gaze inevitably found the TV, and all thoughts of math were lost. "Ooh, I love this movie." Eden turned herself towards the rather large television, her free hand falling from dark hair and instead moved to help hold up the rather large textbook.
A first glance at Eden would suggest she had no intention of being seen by another person. No freshly applied makeup was in sight, but a faded bit of black eyeliner was. Her white shirt held no special features and hung off of her form loosely, showing a substantial amount of collarbone without being indecently revealing. The sleeves, which were already short to begin with, had been rolled up even further. Beneath that, hanging low on pronounced hips, lay a pair of worn jean shorts. As aforementioned a pair of black combat boots covered her feet. They rose up her leg and ended approximately four inches from her knee. These also held a presence of yearly use. Her hair was up in a ponytail that had been done in about five seconds. It was high on her head and missed a bit of ground on the left side of her face.
The casually messy look suited her.

one day you will look behind you and see we three me Zez didn’t notice the sound of heavy boots hitting the ground, she didn’t notice the other girl enter the room with a smile that fell away as quickly as it had come. She didn’t notice any of this because she was too absorbed in her movie. And currently, there were some sexy guys with Irish accents on that TV screen. There was no way in hell that she was going to turn her head to say hello back. At least not until this part was over.
And then it was and this new girl was nearer her than Zez would have imagined. She scolded herself for not being more observant as she flashed a winning smile to the newcomer.
“Hi,” she beamed. “Yeah, I wasn’t expecting anyone else down here either. But I could not sit in my damned room anymore with these text books.”
As Eden spoke, Zez nodded in encouragement. Anyone who loved The Boondock Saints was alright in her book. Now she just needed to make some more room on the couch. Can’t have a fellow Boondock fan standing around when there are hot Irish guys on the TV screen, after all. Zez hastily scooched over on the couch while throwing her books into her bag.
“Have a seat,” she said as she curled her flare legged jeans under her and turned her gaze back to the TV. “Oooh, they are going to get Il Duce out of prison. You have got to stay for the rest of this.”
Z’s eyes were fixed on the screen and a wonky smile was plastered to her face, enraptured by the moving pictures on the screen in front of her. And if one were to look close enough, they would see her lips moving to the cadence of the screen. She was lip syncing the words and she was doing a fine job. Obviously, this was a movie she had seen over and over and over and... As she spoke the lines of the cast, Zez’s hand reached up to her dark brown hair, pulling a pink highlighted portion between her fingers where she idly twisted and turned it over and over.
The upper half of her body was clad in a black tank top, covered with an unzipped black hoodie. Her hair hung down in an untamed mane and it was plain to see that she was not expecting company either. At this hour, who would bother doing makeup? Her legs bore only the worn, old and faded flare legged jeans. On her feet were black flip flops that sparkled with sequins. Sure, it was not what you could call fancy but the flip flops did seem out of place with her extreme casual attire. But that could be chalked up to being lazy.
When the scene on the TV was over, Zez finally looked over to Eden again. Peering at her quizzically, Z cocked her head to the side and then broke out in a smile. “I’m sorry. Irish boys make me forget my manners. I’m Zezrae. You can call me Z or Zez or Zezzie or... Hell, I don’t care. Call me whatever you like.”
There was a gunshot on the big screen and Z whipped her head around to stare. Il Duce was trying to take out the McManus Brothers. Shaking her head with a smile, Zez turned back to face Eden. “Il Duce sure has some big cojones! I mean, one guy going after three? Open fire with no obstacles. I mean, really. The McManus Brothers and Rocco should have been killed right there. I think that’s one of the only parts in this movie that doesn’t really make sense.”
