Aloof||Intelligent||Enigmatic
Name: Kurt Gerard Brody
Nickname(s): KGB, KG
Major: Journalism
Age: 22
Grade: Senior
Birthdate: November 11th, 1987
Orientation: Heterosexual
Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin
`Appearance ,,
Kurt has a chiseled, angular face, generally covered in a scruff of facial hair to create a ruggedly handsome look. His dark brown hair is mostly straight with flips on the ends often times, and settles just above his eyes, which are a brilliant emerald color. His eyes are usually broody, half-closed whether in concentration or anger. Though his nose is a bit wider than the average schnozz, it accentuates his somewhat thick eyebrows and draws attention in towards the eyes.
His natural skin color is an almost Greek tan, deep and somewhat olive-colored, although in the winter months when he doesn't get as much sun, it fades a little bit.
Broad are his shoulders, packed with a decent amount of visible muscle, but just enough to show his strength without appearing bulky. His forearms are also thick with muscle, and covered in dark brown hair. His fingers are somewhat thin for his size, however. Beautifully formed abs make their home on his torso, just as his near-perfectly sculpted legs carry his entire body around.
Almost always in jeans, Kurt often walks around with torn pants, but not the kind you can buy in a store. Any holes are caused by his rough lifestyle outside of school, which involves working with his father at construction sites and the like. His shirts, however, are always spotless. They're solid colors only; no patterns, no pockets, and no logos. Though they're a little tight, each shirt shows off his muscles very well..

Best Feature: Kurt simply loves the color and shape of his eyes. Even though he always looks angry or broody, they seem to sparkle and dance when he's happy or excited about something. He also likes the way they're somewhat dark in the morning, but brighten as the day goes on.
Worst Feature: In contrast, he hates his nose. Hate, hate, hate. He feels like Pinnochio, as if he'll poke someone's eye out with his nose if he gets too close. Though quite the exaggeration, he's always wished he could just chop his entire nose off and replace it with a new one.[/size]
`Personality ,,
The most obvious of his personality traits, his morose attitude towards others, is product of a rough first year of high school, and three more rocky years after. As a freshman, Kurt was the typical kid that no one wanted to associate themselves with: slightly overweight, acne-ridden, and a metalmouth. Since no one wanted to befriend him, Kurt turned to himself for companionship. Though he grew into a more socially acceptable teen within a few summers, Kurt kept to himself all through high school, ignoring most people and concentrating on his schoolwork.
He also concentrated on reading, which is what he claims is the source of his intelligence. Instead of friends, he was kept company by books. Within a week he could finish even the thickest, hardest novel, and the moment he finished one, he had already picked up and started another. Though he prefers the classics, like Catcher In The Rye and The Great Gatsby, he would read anything when he was younger. Even if he hated the book, he would always finish it, and the entire series if he had to. Such was true of the popular books like Harry Potter and Twilight; he couldn't stand them, but wanted to form an accurate opinion of them in order to judge each series.
The mystery surrounding Kurt Brody has never been broken, neither by man nor woman, parent or friend. Most of this is because of his past, and how he had always been treated. However, seeing his younger brother crash and burn in early relationships, with friends and lovers alike, made him weary of putting himself out to be crushed the same way. However, he is always around to lend a helping hand or pass on advice to others. He'll ask hundreds of questions, but refuses to answer any in return.

`History ,,
Kurt was always a shy child, keeping to himself during recess in elementary school and sitting quietly in his room at night. His parents, young and highly unfit to be such, did not treat him badly, but nor did they give him the love and attention he so direly needed. His little brother was better off only because he was a happy, bouncy child from the moment he was born, demanding their parent's attention all the time.
As he aged, Kurt learned to read and dove into his school library, separating himself socially around grade four. His teachers made note of his odd behavior, but did not seem too concerned. They helped him pick out books when he asked, and praised him for recalling each plot when they asked. However, when middle school presented a more expansive library, he stopped talking and began reading any time he could spare a moment. Only a year after starting junior high, he had his first run-in with a bully, whom tormented him by taking his book and refusing to give it back. A small incident in the scheme of things, this marked the moment when Kurt began to lose faith in other people.
The beginning of high school only intensified these feelings. Being regarded as a loser by nearly the entire school, Kurt stopped talking to even his teachers, unless he was forced to give an answer. He did not raise his hand in class, nor did he look up from his desk unless absolutely necessary. He read all day and night, losing sleep but keeping his grades up. His parents realized nothing, and treated him almost the same way his classmates did. Utterly alone in the world, Kurt turned into a self-destructive teen, burning various parts of his body with lighters, cutting the insides of his thighs, and writing false suicide notes in a notebook he hid underneath his pillow.
By the time he graduated, he had stopped writing suicide notes and had been actively writing columns for newspapers, though very few chose to publish his work. The short summer before he started college, he chose to quit his destructive habits but instead took up smoking cigarettes, and found that it calmed him much better than his cutting and burning ever had. Now a senior in college, he is hopeful for the future but still that rejected little boy inside, hidden by his new exterior.

Best Memory: (From Kurt's point of view) "Congratulations! You've been accepted to the Washington University of the Arts!" My breath inhaled sharply as I read the acceptance letter, pride welling up inside me. For the first time ever, I was being accepted by a greater force than my little brother. I couldn't believe I'd actually made it; I'd heard that Washington was hard to get into if you lived out of state, and I lived pretty far. However, my perfect grades and that 33 I'd scored on the ACT must has done something; I was going to college in Washington.
Worst Memory: (From Kurt's point of view) I grimaced, my face full of pain, as the sharp blade slid across my thigh. I'd never liked cutting as an outlet, but what other choice did I have? I'd rather feel the sting of a cut than the throbbing pain of rejection I'd suffered all my life. Crimson blood dripped down my leg as I started a new line, the pain intensifying rather than going numb. My burnt fingertips shook as I pulled the blade away, grabbing my blood-stained towel as I felt hot tears leak from my eyes. I couldn't keep doing this to myself...

`Writing Skill ,,
(This is a reply I gave to a recent roleplay, featuring a vampire as my character and a werewolf as my partner's. As you'll see, I have an attachment to the name Gerard. xD)
The growling subsided only slightly as Gerard was threatened, and the vampire fought the urge to bring it up again as the beast's words hit him. He scoffed silently every so often, rolling his brilliant eyes at the werewolf's comments. What caught him off guard was the warmth of Eric's fingers gliding along his skin, a tingling sensation that felt as though it would burn him if the male's hand stayed in place for too long. As his pants fell, the vampire snarled again, though much quieter this time.
"Interesting is a vague way to put it," he said sharply as the animal stepped back, the fury still building inside of him. He spoke true words; they were mortal enemies from the moment of their births, which had probably been a long, long time ago for both. And also true was the extra incentive to hate: being kidnapped and chained to a wall was certainly grounds for distaste in Gerard's position.
At the mention of 'like' and 'love,' Gerard threw his head back and laughed heartily, ignoring the stabbing pains as his entire body convulsed slightly and shook from his laughter. "Like? Love? Something like you?" he screeched, unable to keep himself from sounding as though he were talking to a child who had just said something hilarious. "Trust me, whelp. There will be no lighter feelings that complete hatred between the two of us. This is what was meant to be, and your barks and howls are never going to change that." The last few words caused his face to return to the sulky, wrinkle-browed man that he was before, all traces of laughter gone from his face and voice.
At the end of Eric's little speech, Gerard's head shook back and forth slowly, his silky and ruffled hair swaying back and forth in front of his face. Not taking his eyes off the werewolf, he spoke again, words slow and calculated, with an icy-cold voice that matched the temperature of his skin. "You are a sickening creature. You just can't let nature take its course; instead of striving after a luscious-" he shuddered at the thought of a dog being described as such "-female of your own kind, you commission a few stupid goons to capture me, chain me to a basement wall, and assume that in order to save myself from you, I'll lower my walls, become as vulnerable as a child in a lion cage, and give in to your sexual demands. I'm not sure what they teach you in the kennels, but perhaps you should have gotten a second opinion before following some crack-pot idea," he said, the words rushing out quickly and holding a venomous, terrible note to them, despite the handsome tone of Gerard's deep voice.

`Behind The Character ,,
Name: Samantha
Age: 17
Role-playing experience: I've been roleplaying since 5th grade (that's about 8 years ago!) on Neopets, which seems to be where everyone started, haha. I've improved a lot since then, and evolved from very short, plot-less roleplays with wolves to elaborate and literate roleplays with, well, anything I find interesting! I've roleplayed animals, humans, fantasy creatures; I've done it all. Though, this is my first time doing a serious college-based roleplay, and I'm very excited. =D
How you found us: My best friend, Julie, told me to join. I checked out the website, and WOW. I'm so impressed, it's beautiful.
