`sophia ophelia clowes.!!!
protective. sarcastic. privileged.
Name: sophia ophelia clowes.
Nickname(s):
* sophie ` basically everyone calls her sophie, friends and family included.
* soph ` her twin calls her soph and though she'd prefer sophie, there's no changing that girl's mind.
* s ` it's an upper east side thing.
Major: dance. more specifically, ballet. she's been a dancer all her life, and she's extremely good at it.
Age: nineteen.
Grade: sophomore.
Birthdate: february the fourteenth.
Orientation: straighter than you can imagine. she likes boys.
Location: manhattan, new york. she's co-queen of the upper east side, beside her sister. or she was, at least.
`Appearance ,,
long, blonde waves and curls hang down sophie's petite frame, pausing only when they reach the curve to her lower back. she has medium-tone, sandy blonde hair that she shares with her identical twin sister and her mother, who passed the trait down to her twin daughters. sophia's hair is rarely straight, as she prefers the natural look she was born with. she doesn't often wear much make-up, and when she does, it's usually a dash of mascara or blush, which she brushes on for her ballet recitals and shows. however, she always has a tube of lip gloss close, which is more of a habit than a preference. as for her eyes, sophie sports a dark shade of chocolate brown, glistening under her long, black lashes. she's convinced the color is common and nothing special, but she more than makes up for it with her not-so-ordinary face. her cheekbones are high and defined, set on either side of her slender nose. her lips, usually glossed, are a little less plump than sophia would prefer, but they're more than capable of doing the job.
as for her body, not only does her ballet require an extremely thin and toned form, but her genes provide it. however, sophia has never been happy with her body as a result of her mother's criticism. her mother takes pride in the fact that her daughter is a dancer, not to mention quite good at it, and she took her weight into her own hands. unfortunately, from the pressure of not only her mother but new york and the upper east side's habits, sophia became bulimic, rejecting any food she consumed at every chance she got. with her intense ballet practice and workout schedule included, sophie is extremely slender, yet somehow maintains a slight layer of muscle from her major of choice. it works for her, however, as both her and her twin sister stand at a full height of five foot six, weighing in at about one hundred ten to one hundred thirteen.

Best Feature:
definitely my legs. i spend countless hours dancing and running, working out and walking all to prepare myself for my passion and what i've chosen to major in. no ballerina has legs that are pudgy in the slightest, and i'm not exception. even i will admit that i like my legs and their slight muscle tone, their light shade of tan, and their length. i'm always wearing tight jeans, leggings, skirts, and especially, tights, so i've learned to be happy with my legs. also, i like my hair, though i'm only allowed to choose one, right?
Worst Feature:
i would be lying if i said the first thing that came to mind was anything but my torso. i've never been happy with everything from my neck down, even if i', considered skinny, slender, petite, and tiny. it's not that i think myself to be overweight, it's that i'm simply not happy with the shape no matter what it is. perhaps that comes from my mother's strict idea of what a body should look like and the pressure put on my by her and all of new york, not to mention everyone ever involved with ballet. also, i'm not a fan of my eye color, though i've been told even the brow is lovely. boys are supposed to say anything to get in your pants though, right? neve says it too, though, and i believe her even if i don't believe it myself.
`Personality ,,
protective
though this applies mostly to her twin sister, sophia can also be protective over her family as a whole. usually, the only time you'll see her transform into anything other than her usually composed self is when her family is being threatened, especially never. the sisters are extremely protective over each other, and won't hesitate to protect the other when the situation calls for it. sophie won't take anyone hurting her sister, under no circumstance, and as a result, won't think twice about taking out the person who dared. though she seems like a darling, wise girl, her ruthless side isn't dormant. she'd do anything for her twin sister, even if she had to risk herself to do it.
privileged
it really isn't a secret that the clowes girls are extremely gifted. not only have they been extremely successful with their dancing and modeling, but their father owns a chain of high class restaurants, and they've been crowed the queens of the upper east side. they drive brand new, shiny convertible cars, and have matching chanel bags. their careers are easily achieved, and a weekend trip is jetting off to paris and hitting las vegas on the way back. their wish is any man's command, and it's safe to say the clowes girls live the charmed life. or at least, they did.
sarcastic
for those that know sophia, snarky comments are simply a part of who she is. no matter who she's with, her sarcastic comments are edging at her tongue even before the speaker finishes. she's got the wit to banter with others, and they certainly recognize her for it. in new york, her fellow elites thought it was almost cute the way she could shut someone down with a simple comment. she pulls it off without being bitchy, though it's probably due to the fact that sophia can produce the perfect smile of innocence. quite honestly, she couldn't keep her sarcastic comments to herself even if she tried. to others, not only is it fun to watch, but it's intimidating; even coming from a ballerina.
however, the biggest thing with sophia is that all of her previous, careless behavior is in the past. after adding a few skeletons to her own closet, miss clowes honestly wants to make a change for the better. leaving her new york attitude behind is a must, as she has already vowed to protect herself and her twin sister from the recklessness that brought them to seattle in the first place. it's safe to say that miss clowes, sophia ophelia, is willing to do anything possible to stay away from what she knows can only hurt her. and this, as a result, means that change is an absolute must. luckily, sophie is already there. all she has to do now is keep it up.

Positive Traits:
- * protective ` sometimes it's a hassle, but sophia is extremely protective of those close to her, especially after nearly losing her sister to her early addiction. she'll honestly do anything to keep her twin safe, and as a result, she's had to mature quite a lot.
- * clever ` not only is she intelligent school wise, but sophia has a sharp mind when it comes to making decisions. she always thinks about things before she agrees to anything, and she knows exactly what is best for her, though it isn't always what's easy. she's extremely sarcastic, a trait that despite her changing ways, she hasn't dropped.
- * strong ` not physically, but mentally. sophia knows what she wants, and now that she's back on track, she won't let anything get in her way. she's determined to get what she wants while keeping those around her (neve) safe and protected. though she hates the life her parents have put her in, she's determined to make the most of it.
Negative Traits:
- * secretive ` living on the upper east side resulted in many secrets and memories sophia would rather forget. rather than face her mistakes and allow her parents to pay the price for it via the gossip rag, the slightly elder twin does everything in her power to keep things to herself; for instance, the story of losing her virginity. she's not the type to come out and spill all of her secrets and life story to someone she doesn't know, which usually results in her having to get to know people thoroughly before she tells them anything.
- * cautious ` when getting to know people, she's careful to judge their intentions first. in new york, sophia learned that people aren't at all what they seem, and as a result, she doesn't put her trust in people she doesn't truly know. even in washington, she doesn't feel the need to get close to anyone, as she hasn't come across many in her life she's like to keep around.
- * obsessive ` not in the way where she's obsessed with an ex-boyfriend or anything, but when sophia finds something she likes, she dedicates herself to it. however, the only thing that has ever really fallen under this category is her dance. ballet is what keeps her stable, and she's determined to go somewhere with it.
- * tease `sophia always prided herself on not being a whore for any man, no matter the circumstances. her long time perfect boyfriend, william, seemed to enjoy this about his girlfriend, though certainly didn't like the fact that she insisted on staying a virgin until her wedding night. unfortunately, the clowes sisters shared their night of weakness and every value they previously held was shot to hell. sophia, while she usually had every move planned, allowed a boy she hardly knew take her virginity; something her long time boyfriend had been hoping for forever. her usual game of playing hard to get, pushing a guy as far as she could, and refusing to sleep with him at the last minute seems like its from another life, but that doesn't mean the girl has lost her touch. she's quite the tease when she tries, but she'll deny the title and pass it off as 'proper upbringing'.
Greatest Ambition:
to be highly successful in her ballet to where she's fortunate enough to travel the world, and eventually make it back to new york, where her real life is. even if she would prefer to escape it, seattle isn't the ideal place to go.
Greatest Fear:
losing her twin sister, as neve is honestly her other half and without her, the slightly elder of the two would have no one to shop with, talk to, enjoy things with, escape with, and grow old with. this is why she protects her sister to the best of her ability; without her, sophia would honestly be lost.
`History ,,
sophia ophelia clowes was the first born, just slightly, to daphne and simon clowes, her grateful, lovely, and dedicated parents. shortly after, her identical twin sister, neve, came and the clowes family was absolutely pleased. raising them wasn't always easy, especially with her father balancing his growing chain of restaurants, and her mother busy planning their futures. sophia was never alone; she had more than enough people to keep her company, and with an identical sister, she never had a reason to be alone. they did everything together, dressed in matching outfits, with equally pleased and thrilled parents. however, at the age of five, mister clowes and his wife decided that after opening a highly successful business in seattle, washington, he could do the same thing in the big city. without leaving much time for thought, him and his wife packed up everything they owned, including their newly born son, and brought their children to new york, where they would live life until they reached the age of nineteen.
the private school the girl's attended was nice and proper; everything it was made out to be. sophia and neve arrived with matching chanel backpacks and tales of the other side of the country; the side they were happy to leave for the bigger dream. however, just like the stories, new york isn't picture perfect in the slightest. as sophia's father's business was rocketing and swimming in profit, the ten year old was walking around in her first pair of stiletto heels, though she much preferred her ballet slippers. while her twin sister was the fashionista, sophia insisted on taking ballet classes with the other girls she went to school with, striving to beat them with their leaps, pirouettes, and even stretches. the little girl lived in her tights and ballet shoes, not to mention she was walking with grace and already starting to worry about body image. the clowes girls were born naturally thin, but for sophia, it wasn't enough. bulimia was a common thing, and at the age of fifteen, she didn't really see the harm in it. besides, she had already had her first drink, and nothing could be worse than that. or at least in sophie's fantasy world, it couldn't. with the help of her sister, sophie was regularly throwing up her food, and though she assumed her mother knew, it wasn't spoken of.
by the age of sixteen, she was learning that not all men were prince charming and each and every new york male had something else on his mind. while she would attend parties with her sister at her side and a drink in her hand, sophia never thought she would be the victim of a pig; or rather the games they played. she continued ballet through her private school, her obsession with her body growing stronger. she allowed herself to eat yogurt and some vegetables, but that was it. the young blonde learned of her love for a challenge and creating one; she loved being what men and women chased, while still coming off as polite and approachable.
it was instantly clear that sophia was gifted with her ballet; she was staring in shows and plays, always the vivacious blonde who stole the stage. her sister was booking shoots and doing work for chanel on the side. mister and mrs. clowes were delighted with their daughters success, and in return, chose to turn a blind eye to their bad habits. in sophie's mind, nothing would pull her away from her dance, and she was more than capable of balancing her night life. she was bringing in good marks in all her classes at nyu (though she would have rather attended brown but didn't to stay close to her twin), and her life as a professional ballerina looked promising. she was dating a rich, sweet but completely boring man named william harrisburg, whom her parents completely approved of. he was everything their princess was supposed to love; charming and handsome. however, both sophia and neve saw what their parents didn't. for an outgoing, ambitious girl like sophia, william was boring. he wasn't a challenge and he was obsessed with his virgin girlfriend. none the less, sophia ophelia clowes was untouchable. until the night that changed her life.
her sister, neve, was at a rave and sophia had chosen to meet up with a few people at a new york flat. a guy she met there, who wasn't her "darling" longtime boyfriend william, soon had her accepting shots and sloppy kisses. the girl was a virgin at the time, believing her purity something she would save until marriage, unlike the other girls of the elite. however, with the strong desire to rebel, once she was alone with the doting boy, she allowed him to take her and her virginity on a common park bench. though she'll never forgive herself for acting like such a whore, the second part is far worse. while sophie was in the middle of her sin, her sister was trying frantically to reach her. someone had been shot at the rave she was at, and neve's boyfriend had been the one with the gun. though she got the messages late, sophia was able to arrive to whisk her sister away before authorities got their hands on her. though neve wasn't so willing to leave her man's side, sophia was positive that staying could only hurt her and her chances of getting away clean. though sophia was able to get her sister away before police arrived, the clowes parents were already aware of their daughter's latest scandal. they could no longer turn a cold shoulder, and therefore, decided to send neve back to seattle where the girls started. however, sophia spent the night begging her parents to let her go too, her reason being that it would look suspicious if only one of the inseparable twins left. truthfully, sophia was more than happy to escape her boyfriend's pressing gaze after cheating on him with a guy she hardly knew, not to mention on a park bench. her parents agreed, and their shamed daughters were sent to seattle, their own personal hell.
and so they wait. wait for something to take them back to the only life they know, or someone to teach them to love their new one. sophie has ballet and her sister, not to mention a serious eating disorder and a belief that a perfect man, excluding pigs, doesn't exist. however, she wants to change. after the night that left her questioning what the hell she was thinking, the young blonde wants to turn around, focusing on protecting her sister and striving with her ballet. she's choosing to forget about the man who waits for her in new york, and has dubbed herself a virgin again. she's been almost everywhere and seen almost every side of things. now all she needs is someone to change her mind.

Best Memory:
the day sophia stepped out of the taxi and into times square, the young blonde knew her life would never be the same. she wore a pair of leggings and pink ballet slippers, her favorite accessory being her twin sister. the lights, the advertisements, the pretty people, the sales, and the population was breathtaking and not at all overwhelming. in fact, it could very well be the day her life began.
Worst Memory:
her last night in new york was easily memorable. her sister, neve, was at a rave and sophia had chosen to meet up with a few people at a new york flat. a guy she met there, whose name she honestly wished she could forget, soon had her accepting shots and kisses. the girl was a virgin at the time, believing her purity something she would rather save until marriage. however, with the strong desire to rebel, once she was alone with the man, she allowed him to take her and her virginity in the park, on a bench. though she'll never forgive herself for acting like such a whore, the second part is far worse. while sophie was in the middle of her sin, her sister was trying frantically to reach her. someone had been shot at the rave she was at, and neve was a prime witness. though she got the messages late, sophia was able to arrive to whisk her sister away before authorities got their hands on her. however, the clowes parents hadn't been as slow; they were practically first on the scene as their business was near. they discovered what had happened, and because their family name was already prime target for gossip, decided to send their daughters to their childhood city. though she never wanted to leave new york, it was something that had to be done, or at least in the eyes of sophia's parents. the twins could have easily relocated somewhere in the same state rather than the other side of the country.

`Behind The Character ,,
annabella wasn't a fool. she knew that when a certain self-proclaimed slytherin prince made a promise, he was going to keep it. with that in mind, the blonde pulled herself out of bed and decided she had no choice but to show up for breakfast that morning. neither breakfast nor getting up early had ever been appealing to her, especially since those served inside her own home usually ended up as their own little catastrophes. ever since the death of her brother closest to her in age, the bletchley estate hadn’t been the same. while annabella usually would have spent the morning exchanging sarcastic remarks with her eldest brother and conversation topics with her father, she now ate her meal in silence, noticing the way her mother gazed at the empty chair across the table from her. most families looked at it as luck; at least the bletchley parents had been fortunate enough to produce two heirs, and the deceased was the second in line anyway. technically speaking, their family hadn’t suffered any loss. realistically, the loss was obvious whenever annabella, or anyone else for that matter, looked into her parents eyes or noticed the silence that seemed to hang over the family of four every time they gathered. the house was quite a bit darker and the mood was always grim.
unless, of course, they had company. like a well rehearsed act, fran put on her fake smile and miles pulled out his poor conversation topics; all of which stayed away from the fact that he had lost both an heir and a son. mikayle seemed to have a way of avoiding said parties and gatherings, but not annabella. fran made a point to cover her daughter in lace and lights, using her to take the focus off their loss and instead place it upon what they were proud of. the young blonde was ushered from wealthy family to family with powerful position, never asked to remember names but instead smile and nod. she was her parents favorite trophy; the one they polished each and every time they lamented the loss of a crucial family member. usually, fran found comfort in directing her daughter to the arm of her fiancé; she liked the way her blonde princess looked next to a malfoy. annabella, however, was bored. like any other pureblood woman, she had been placed with the richest and most worthy bachelor that showed interest in her hand. there was no excitement in her betrothal; no choice. she wanted excitement and she wanted a choice; an unconventional girl deserved a different story. and so, she decided to show up for breakfast.
with her arms hanging at her sides, the blonde quickly scanned the hall, looking for two blonde males in particular. one was her begrudged destination, the other she planned on avoiding like the plague. however, the coast was clear for the time being, and she was free to take her usual seat at the end of the slytherin table and help herself to a cup of juice in a small, golden cup.
