Name: Regan Hartley
Nickname(s): Reggie
Major: Music
Age: 17
Grade: Freshman.. I think?
Birthdate: December 25th
Orientation: Straight
Location: Oklahoma
`Appearance ,,
Hair
Regan has long brown locks that go to her mid back. They hang in natural waves, so her hair may actually be longer then mid back. However its too much work to iron her hair straight every day, so she doesn't know the precise length of her hair. She has bangs that swoop casually across her forehead. Also hidden mostly between all of the rest of her long brown locks, is a single streak of pink. She hides it most of the time because her parents wouldn't approve of it. Usually she lets her hair hang down. But occasionally she'll be doing something where long hair would only get in the way. Then she'll put her hair up. Generally Regan's hair is very soft, and it's fairly thick. She likes her hair a lot.
Face
Regan has a heart shaped face, which is of course framed with her long brown locks[see above]. With respects to her face she doesn't do much to make it look good. She has a naturally pretty face, and make up doesn't mean much to her. Her eyes are a bright blue grey colour that leans more toward the grey side when she's angry and more toward the blue side when she's sad. Her eyes are outlined with long lashes that give her a sort of dreamy look. She has a nice facial bone structure, and her cheek bones are fairly prominent. Her lips are slightly pouty, which annoys her but it sometimes works in her favor. They enable her to do an excellent puppy dog look, which she often puts to her use.
Body
Regan is tall and slim. She's about 5'9" in height which isn't of course the tallest, but its fairly tall for a girl. She is occasionally uncomfortable with her height but as she has gotten older, she has gotten more used to the fact that she is tall and she even enjoys being tall now. Regan has a bit of a bony look to her, because she doesn't weigh an amount that it suited to her height. Its not as if she is anorexic or anything, she just has a fast metabolism and actually eats a lot, its just that the weight doesn't stay on her. She weighs about 100 lbs, maybe more. Her skin tone is fair, but she tans well in the summer which my be contradictory but she gets it from the gene pool of her parents. Her mother is fair and her father is tanned.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Regan only has a couple distinguishing characteristics. She has the tattoo on the back of her shoulder, its a star into which are hidden the names of her family members. Both of her ears are pierced once, but generally she doesn't wear fancy earrings. She goes for simple earrings, over anything dangly and fancy. She also has a freckle on the side of her foot, and her second toe is longer then her big toe. Finally on her stomach there is a patch of skin which is lighter then the rest of her skin. It's sort of shaped like a foot, but not really.
Clothing
When it comes to clothing, Regan isn't too picky. She will wear girl's clothing, and she will wear boy's clothing. She likes pants more then skirts though so if she can avoid wearing a skirt then she will jump at the opportunity. She's not the most fashionable girl but its mostly because she really doesn't care what she wears. If she could she would wear jeans all the time but since she can't she doesn't unfortunately. She doesn't have a favorite colour for clothes, but she finds that blue looks best on her because it brings out the blue in her eyes, which is her favorite colour of her eyes.

Best Feature:
I think my best feature is... Or rather are my eyes. They're a super cool shade of blue-grey and seem to change colours with my mood.
Worst Feature:
My weight. I know most girls would kill to have my weight, but I think I look scrawny.[/size]
`Personality ,,
Independant
Regan prefers not to depend on anyone. She'd rather be independant and rely on herself. From all of her past experience she doesn't trust relying on someone to take care of her. She has found that her parents, the one people she was supposed to be able to rely on unconditionally simply failed her. Her mother is spineless and pathetic, and her father is an aggressive drunkard, not exactly people you can trust and because of that she was developed a cynical outlook. Its caused her some issues in past relationships and such because occasionally the male of the relationship will want to take care of her and such but she doesn't really comply to that because it goes against her nature.
Determined
Regan has always been determined. Generally she's determined to not let her siblings be beaten by their father, which generally includes her taking the fall for them and recieving the inevitable beating. She doesn't mind doing this because she would rather feel the pain then know that her little siblings have to endure pain. She worries about them alot now that she is back at school. The other thing is that she is determined to the point of singlemindedness in a way. When she wants something, she tends to focus on it and then work toward that goal until she accomplishes it. She did it with graduation. Regan worked her butt off to make it out of school so she could get into a good University.
Rough
By rough, it doesn't really mean physically rough. Rather she is a little rough around the edges personality-wise. She's a little different then a lot of other people and isn't always the easiest person to get along with. She has truoble making friends at first but the friends she makes, she keeps close with. She is loyal to those friends. Rough for Regan is also a slight physical rough. She is not afraid to get down in the dirt or into a wrestling match. It makes her a little bit of a tomboy but she doesn't mind too much.

`History ,,
Before Birth
Alan Hartley met Kacey Thompson when he was 22, to her 18. She was beautiful, the most beautiful girl in the room. He decided right then that he wanted her. Love wasn't really in the equation. So he began to pursue her, dancing with her and such the like. The second time they had met was at a party that was being thrown in a barn. It was being thrown by Kacey's friends and they were celebrating Kacey's 19th birthday. Alan was also out with friends and they had craashed the party. Funnily enough Alan and his friends were celebrating Alan's birthday. This was on January 17th. Alan continued to pursue Kacey finally planting a kiss on her. That was when Kacey fell for Alan. Alan knew this but he was only in it for the hunt.
In late March of the same year Alan finally got Kacey into bed. That was the night they concieved Regan. Though they didn't realize this at the time. Alan was ready to dump Kacey, and he did. He avoided her and didn't phone her. Until one day in November Kacey and her father showed up on his doorstep. Alan, who still lived with his parents, was surprised to see that Kacey was clearly very pregnant. Seeing Kacey at the door, Alan's father whacked him across the back of his head. Three days later they had gotten married in the courthouse by the local judge. Kacey though was still in love with Alan. Alan was resentful of her and their unborn child.
Birth
On December 25th, in the early morning, after eight hours of labour, Kacey Hartley brought into the world a screaming baby girl. The baby girl had a dark shock of hair and bright blue-grey eyes. They handed the baby to Kacey and Kacey fell in love right away with the baby. Alan did not. He still resented this tiny form that screamed loudly. He didn't deny that it was his child though. Reluctantly he held the little baby and as he stared into her eyes he decided on the name. "Regan Nadia," he said. Kacey smiled. She liked that name, she liked it a lot.
Regan was a cute baby, but the couple was young and up until this point Alan hadn't had a job. He had to go get one now and consequently became a plumber. He would come home drunk after work, blowing most of their money on booze. Then when he came home he would hit his wife and ignore his baby. Finally he would end his night in bed with Kacey. Just over nine months after Regan's birth the family had another addition. This time it was a baby boy they named Carter Tyler. He looked more like his mother with fair skin, dark eyes, and fair hair. He was also much louder then Regan had ever been. While all the was happening, Regan was experiencing some crucial first, eg first laugh, smile, crawl, and word even.
No one really took notice of these things. Her father plain didn't care, and her mother was too busy trying to deal with two young babies. Regan of course was too young to notice these things herself. She just continued to live life doing abnormal baby things and experiencing firsts.
Early Childhood
When Regan both Regan and her brother were two a new addition joined the family. Another little girl, this one they named Mary-Rae Queenie. She looked more like Alan, with dark hair, tanned skin, and blue eyes. She was a cute little baby and the two siblings were more able to appreciate her then Regan had been able to appreciate Carter. However they tended to get in their mother's way trying to help out with the baby. Even Kacey began to yell at them now. As it was Alan never had a kind word for them. He was constantly yelling at them, and when he was very drunk, hitting them. The hitting didn't come very often, only when Alan got very drunk and even that didn't happen very often.
For the most part Regan was a good little girl. She played nicely with the other children in the neighbourhood. However as she got a little older it appeared as if she understood too much of what was going on, more then a three year old, which was what she was, should. She seemed to understand that the fact that her father would occasionally smack her upside the head was a bad thing. Being three, she did not know what to do about it at all. She would later figure out what she could do about it short of destroying her family.
When she was four she started school. She didn't like it too much, becuase she was forced to stay in this place all day without being able to go anywhere until it was all over. It made her stir crazy and she wished she could just stay home. But she was only four years old, she didn't know anything just yet. Her fifth brithday party wass a joke. Her mother had through a whole bunch of trouble to invite all of Regan's school friends, and then her father came in half way through drunk out of his mind. He ruined the whole party and on Monday morning she begged her mother to allow her to never go to school again. Kacey of course said no and Regan returned to school.
The next year her brother began at the same school.
Childhood
School from there on progressed easily. She got used to it, and realized though she did not like it, it was a good thing for her to spend her time on. She realized it was important and that she should learn as much as she could so as to better her own future. Also now that she was six and onwards she realized what she could try to do about her father was protect her younger siblings. Carter and Mary-Rae were both younger then her and she did not want them to get hurt. She has some motherly feelings toward them even though she was only six. Sometimes her mother would be out and it would be Regan's job to tuck in Mary-Rae and sing her a lullaby. This was when Regan first discovered she could sing. From then on she would sing all the time and often Mary-Rae would join in. Their voices complimented each other though when they sang. Alan had no appreciation for music and would just hit them when they sang together.
After school when she wasn't around Mary-Rae or Carter she would follow around some of the older boys in the neighbour hood. Some of them were good at fixing cars and Regan could spend hours watching them fiddle with the engine or whatever it was that they were doing. She used this as an escape from the messed world that was her homelife. She was only seven.
Time progressed, Regan grew up. When she was eight she developed a small crush on one of the boys who fixed cars. He was much older and she was perfectly aware she had no chance, but still she trailed him like a lost puppy dog. He humored her, and taught her various things about cars and how to make them go. She appreciated this greatly and eventually she got over her crush. That was about the time the boy she had liked moved away. Regan moved on. She didn't develop another crush just yet. She just followed around other people.
At home she was getting better at defending herself and her younger siblings from their father. If he hit her, she would hit him back. Of course when she started doing that he would hit her back again, harder occasionally she would wake up in the morning with harsh bruises and every so often a black eye. The bruises didn't cause her a lot of pain but deep down Regan knew that her father should not be hitting her. It seemed though that he was getting worse. He seemed to be drinking much much more. Regan took note of this.
In October before her twelvth birthday her mother gave birth again. This time it was twins, a boy and a girl named Faith Bailey and Finn Bobby. Being almost twelve Regan could fully appreciate the mixed bunch that was these two new additions. Sure they were cute but it seemed that all they did was eat, poop, and sleep.. And of course cry. Regan found them annoying and enticing at the exact same time and she desperately loved them. Once again she became more motivated to keep her father from hitting her younger siblings.
Early Teens
Finally she was thirteen, and Regan didn't feel all too different. Well maybe she had a bit of an attitude now. One day when Regan returned home she caught her father beating Carter. Her temper rose some and she struggled to push her father away. He back handed her but left. Carter was sort of okay. He was alive but badly banged and bruised. Regan realized it was high time to confront her mother. So she did. She stood there, screaming and yelling at her mother. She was angry and had let her temper get the best of her. At the end of the rant though she realized her mother was crying but that she clearly had no plans to get anywhere away from Alan. On that day Regan lost all respect for her mother.
High school was a different experience for Regan. She kind of enjoyed it though she didn't like how the Socs looked down on her because of who she was friends with, and where she lived. It irked the highly moral girl and once again she wished was no longer attending school. She had to put up with it though, she needed to finish with school and find a way to make life better for her younger siblings, to get them away from Alan. She no longer called him dad or father. It was Alan, always Alan. Kacey was Kacey now too, not mom, never mom. This made both of her parents angry but she was at a stage where she no longer gave a d**n as to what they thought.
When she was fourteen she had her next crush. It was on a boy who was two years older then her and she doubted she had a chance. Somehow the boy found out though, and he pretended to return her affection. Regan was surprised but flattered. They began to date and from the very beginning of the relationship he pestered her for sex. Being naive and fourteen Regan gave in after two months. The boy promptly dropped her and Regan was left to lick her wounds.
Up til Now
Since then Regan has had a bit of a cynical look on love. She avoids relationships though every so often she does develop a crush on a boy. Not wanting to get hurt again she ignores the crush, choosing rather to stay single and free from heartbreak.
She still chooses to defend her siblings from her father. And she finally enters her first year of school that is not high school. She's rather excited to be so far away from home.

Best Memory:
Regan's best memory is hard to locate. It might be the first time Faith and Finn spoke though. They were about eighteen months old, which was probably late but the twins were always late in most things. But anyways. Veronika was stuck at home with them, babysitting. She didn't mind because they were better off with her then with their father. But they were simply playing when the twins said her name. Well they actually said Wey, but it was close enough because she could tell they were talking about her.
Worst Memory:
Her worst memory is also hard to locate as there have been so many beatings. But the worst has to be when her father broke her arm, or rather fractured. He was drunk one morning[he had woken up this way] and puched her. She had fallen and her arm had hit the table, and the table had been bolted to the floor for some odd reason. It had no give so her arm had had to give with a sickening crack.

She had been tossing and turning for hours. Sleep had only come an hour ago. That one hour had been haunted by nightmares, and resulted in a fall to the floor. For a moment Avery writhed there, a tangle of long limbs and bed sheets. She sighed and stopped tossing. Her chest rose up and down but she still couldn't get back to sleep. She was surprised however that her tossing hadn't woken up her roommates. Of course it wasn't a loud thump. A yawn escaped her lips and she decided to give up. She brushed her bangs off of her forehead and pulled herself from her sheets. Avery wasn't tired any more so she might as well give up on sleep. A soft yawn escaped her lips and she adjusted the pair of boxer shorts she slept in. Her baggy t-shirt with a muggle rock band logo had ridden up as well, so when she stood the hem fell to just below the bottom of her boxers. Her bright blue green eyes scanned around her bed, looking for her slippers. She found them easily and slipped her feet into the big "bear" paws that happened to be her slippers. She loved these slippers, they happened to be super comfortable.
Carefully, she tiptoed across the floor to the door. She was hungry now and nothing would do except for some food. Well sleep would also be good but Avery had tried that hadn't she and it hadn't worked out. She tiptoed out from the dormitory and into the common room. A small laugh escaped her lips as she saw a fellow seventh year conked out over what appeared to be a History of Magic assignment. A smile perched on Avery's lips as she tip toed past him. She didn't want to wake him up after all his hard work of managing to get to sleep. The fire had nearly died down and the common room was mostly dark so sure enough Avery tripped over a stool. She fell to the ground with a thud and a curse word escaped her mouth. Unfortunately the boy woke up. He saw immediately how Avery was flopped out over the floor and his laughter filled the room. "Typical Carters," he said. Avery stumbled to her feet and shot him a dirty look. "You've got a little something on your face their Alex," said Avery with a sweet smile. Now that the boy's face was off of his assignment Avery could see the words in ink clearly written across his cheek. With a smug smile she exited the common room.
It was a short walk down the hall to the kitchen, which was her intended destination. A shiver passed over her, the hallway was colder then she had thought it would be. She wrapped her arms around herself and took the few shuffly steps to the portrait of the fruit bowl. When she reached it, slowly she stuck her arm out toward the pear and tickled it. As always she watched in amazement as the pear changed into a door handle. It was just the most amazing thing. Magic was so wonderful, and Avery was glad she had it. She really did not understand as to how the muggles lived with out it. She didn't know if she would be able to live without it after having experienced it for herself. Once again she brushed her bangs out of the way before finally reaching out and pulling the door open.
As she entered the kitchen a few house elves swarmed her. Avery smiled softly, she did like the house elves and she loved how they were so overly enthusiastic about their job and such. She wished she could find a profession that excited her that much after her graduation. That would be so amazing. The thought of it made Avery grin. She hadn't found anything like it yet, but she could only cross her fingers and hope that it would be possible for her to find something such as that that would make her that happy. She had been about to ask for something to eat when she heard the door open. Carefully she turned to see....
