Sarcastic, Spontaneous, Stubborn
Name: Desiree Amanda Macdonell
Nickname(s): Des, Ray, Mac
Major: Music
Age: 20
Grade: Junior
Birthdate: September 13th, 1988
Orientation: Heterosexual
Location: Columbia Falls, Montana
`Appearance ,,
Desiree is not a very big individual. She stands at a mere 5’3 and a half and weighs only 125lbs; which when compared to others, she’s sort of tiny. Although yes most of the time she wears heels it isn’t because she’s ashamed of her height, in fact she’s proud and happy to be that small. Her body is lean most of the time, however she is known to have put on the extra weight here and there but it’s never for very long, usually during the holidays or when something bad happens; like any girl when she needs to have a good cry there’s always ice cream and chocolate involved. She has a smooth fair complexion and has been blessed with no blemishes.
Her hair is a darker brown around the roots and as it goes down slowly fades into a lighter brown until you reach the bottom where it’s so light it’s almost blond, it goes down to about her chest and is usually straight if she actually has the drive to do something with it, if not it’s wavy or pulled into a ponytail. Her eyes are a hazel brown and she tends to love to smoke them out, if she doesn’t do that then its mascara and eyeliner or nothing at all. Her lips aren’t that special, her top lip is quite thin and although her bottom lip is fuller it doesn’t really make a difference.
She tends to dress to accommodate her mood, not really following trends her style could be best described as hippie/rocker chic. She loves the flowy tunic tops and sweat pants but she also loves the black leather jacket, tight skinny jeans. She can always been seen with jewelry, rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings. With having seven piercings well then that’s a lot of jewelry right there. She loves to wear high heels, for the fact that it makes her taller and just because she thinks they make anyone look damn sexy, plus they make her normally short and stubby legs look long, lean and sexy. She never dresses to impress anyone really, only for herself.

Best Feature: “I would have to say my nose, I think it’s cute and small. Who wouldn’t love it?”
Worst Feature: “Well on a particularly bad day, my tummy. If I eat too much then I tend to bloat and get a little rounder. However on any normal day, I’d have to say my legs. They aren’t the best and are pretty short and stumpy, thank god for the invention of the stiletto.”
`Personality ,,
Sarcastic
Probably one of the more annoying things about Desiree; really it’s hard to get a serious answer out of this girl because you don’t know if she actually means what she says. Most of the time she doesn’t and if you know her you can tell when she’s being serious and when she’s being sarcastic. However if you’ve just met her then you could get quite annoyed with her constant sarcasm or it could even hurt your feelings, which of course is not her intention. Sarcasm is her way of being funny, instead of cracking jokes every ten seconds she feels more comfortable almost mocking what others say. It’s also a subtle way she almost challenges people, trying to bring out the under meaning of what they say and if they have the balls to actually say it.
Spontaneous
She never has a plan. Ever. Plain and simple, you could say that it’s because she prefers to live on the ‘wild side’ or that she’s trying to be all ‘rebellious’. Actually it has nothing to do with that, mostly she doesn’t plan because when she has a plan then she has obligations and expectations to meet, and therefore a chance to fail and a chance to disappoint someone who could be counting on her. That is something she can’t handle. Also if she had plans she’d probably forget them most likely, either just by plain bad memory or by getting distracted. It tends to happen a lot. Tending to also not look before she leaps Desiree will pretty much do whatever comes into her brain at the time without taking a second thought about it.
Stubborn
Her worst trait most likely, she’s as stubborn as a mule. Just trust me when I say that when her mind is made up, there is pretty much a zero percent chance that you’ll be able to change it. Whether she’s wrong or right it doesn’t matter, even if she knows that she’s wrong she’ll still try and convince you that she’s right. A point of pride and just her plain old stubborn nature. This makes her spontaneity even harder to deal with, because she just does what comes to mind, if you try to tell her it’s a bad idea she’ll have a hundred reasons and excuses as to why she should do whatever it is she wants to do. This also ties in with her being very independent, she doesn’t want to accept help from anyone and will continually say no to help until she finally does whatever it is she’s doing on her own. Or until she’s alone so that she can quit in private and leave without anyone saying “I told you so”.

Positive Traits:
Doesn’t give up Never being a quitter, Desiree finishes what she starts, not matter what. To her it’s a weakness to give up, when she used to play sports even if her team was losing she’d still try her hardest until it was over. Nothing is over until the last buzzer sounds.
Quick thinker She’s always had this natural ability to be able to asses any situation she’s in quickly and decide what to do about it. Whether it be sweet talking her way out of it or simply trying to outwit whoever it is she needs to get away from.
Doesn’t gossip Hard to believe right? Well yes folks read em and weep. Desriee thinks that gossiping is weak and pitiful, and that everyone has a right to their privacy.
Negative Traits:
Impatient Always being high energy, you’d think she had ADD or something, the fact that she hates to sit still and can’t stand waiting for anything more than pretty much three minutes makes her not the best person to go on a road trip with. She’s the one in the car that every thirty seconds is going ‘are we there yet?’. No matter how many times you tell her to relax or wait her turn it won’t help she’ll be antsy until you reach your destination or she gets what she wants.
Temper
Although most of the time Desiree is laid back and has the everything is cool and ok attitude, there are those certain things that will get her riled up and when they do watch out. She’s never gotten angry enough to be violent but she does love to scream, so watch out and don’t get in her way because when she’s on a rant she’ll turn on anyone and won’t stop until she’s run out of steam or something really big happens. However it would take a lot to distract her from her rage, she pretty much takes on the meaning ‘blind rage’.
Doesn’t like responsibility
Probably one of her biggest downfalls is the fact that Desiree doesn’t like to take responsibility of anything that involves other people. She hates disappointing others and feels like nothing when she does so she avoids taking charge of group situations. When it comes to herself however it’s a different story, because it’s only herself that she can disappoint when she’s making decisions for her then she doesn’t hesitate. She can disappointment from herself but not from others.
Greatest Ambition: To get a record contract
Greatest Fear: To disappoint someone who is truly counting on her.
`History ,,
Desiree Amanda Mcphee was born on September 13, 1988 in a home birth, her parents didn’t like hospitals already having their first child Desirees older brother Seth in Helena three years prior. They figured it seemed more personal to have a home birth and there was no chance of taking home the wrong baby; because that happens so much these days? She was two days early and was her families first little girl and her parents couldn’t be happier, both having grown up on farms in their small town of Columbia Falls, Montana they now had a child of each, a son to take over the family business and a girl to become the perfect housewife. Her mother Emily Mcphee was just that, the typical ranch wife, she did all of the cooking and cleaning, and all of the indoor chores making sure that the food was on the table in time for when the men came in from working all day. Her father William Mcphee like their mother had grown up in Columbia Falls and was a natural born cowboy, he’d been doing it since he was a youngin’ and couldn’t imagine doing anything else, never mind his children doing anything else.
Yes they were a happy little family, and the training started early Desiree helping her mother indoors from the age of two and Seth helping her father and the ranch hands outside since he was four, although since they were both to young to do any real help they liked to think that they did. Really it was more for the laughs the adults got out of it. When Desiree was four and Seth seven their family got introduced to their fifth and final member of the family, Hailey; now Hailey wasn’t planned, Emily and William had planned to stop at Desiree but things happen and well Hailey did. Although their father was disappointed he didn’t have another son to help her mother was happy to have another girl around; but just because he didn’t get a son didn’t stop William from taking Desiree out into the yard and teaching how to do the outside chores as well.
It was a pretty good system, Hailey and Desiree helping out their mother indoors in the morning, then after lunch Desiree would go outside to help her father, brother and the ranch hands out with the cattle. She started barrel racing when she was eight, after her family had gone to the town rodeo to watch some of the ranch hands bull ride, and they’d got the tail end of the barrel racing event and she became hooked. Her father couldn’t have been happier that his daughter had taken interest in some sort of riding sport but was equally disappointed that Seth hadn’t taken any interest in anything, in fact even back at the ranch when doing chores it was always a battle. Desiree immediately became her father’s favorite, him teaching her how to barrel race and her entering in her first competition at the age of nine and getting third.
The night that she won third was also the night she discovered her true passion; music. In celebration of her ribbon Desiree had been granted the power to choose what the group had for dinner, and she decided burgers, salad and smores for desert. Well that night around the campfire during the smores one of the ranch hands Charlie who was sixteen brought out an acoustic guitar and began playing. Desiree became so captivated and awed by the music that she immediately asked him to let her try, he did and after that first strum (even though it sounded horrible) she knew that she had found her calling. From then on she begged Charlie everyday to teach her guitar and he did, slowly but surely in between chores and after dinner he would teach her until she could play a full song. By the time she was thirteen she could play every chord and mastered every song she learned, at first she learned to play by ear but Charlie said she’d never truly get anywhere if she didn’t learn to read music.
At first her father thought it was just a hobby for Desiree, but soon barrel racing began to take the back seat to it and that didn’t make him happy. He didn’t think that she should be focusing on music but rather on the ranch and her barrel racing, because she was good and if she wanted could probably make a career out of it. However that wasn’t what she wanted; by sixteen she was writing her own songs and entering local talent shows, and listening to all different genres of music, preferring to play rock to country although it always be one of her favorite genres. With all of the money she’d won from barrel racing Desiree eventually was able to afford her first acoustic guitar, her baby as she liked to call it. Throughout all of this her brother dropped a bomb as well, after never being interested in taking over the farm Seth had always expressed more interest in fashion than rodeo and when he was nineteen finally told his family the truth. Seth was gay and his dream was to go to New York and become a fashion designer. Well to William that was completely unacceptable and he came unglued on Seth, calling him all sorts of names and disowning him on the spot telling him to get out. Seth having expected this was already packed and would head to New York to pursue his dream; before he left though he told Desiree to follow her heart and not what their father wanted and that if she needed him, he would be there for her.
Well after Desiree saw the bravery that her brother had shown, she knew that she had to follow her dream and now music was her life. Night and day it was all she could think about, always writing songs in school in the back of her notebooks and humming tunes as she did her chores. Her mother although sad that Seth had left supported her son and Desiree in their decisions and was in fact the one that gave her, the application to the Washington University of Arts. She applied and everything was left to hope, the day she got her acceptance letter she couldn’t contain her joy, jumping up and down and screaming she couldn’t believe it. That night she told her father and instead of screaming at her he simply stood up, walked into the living and sitting in his favorite recliner chair turned on the tv and watched in silence. In fact he didn’t say a word to either Desiree or her mother for two weeks, before they finally confronted him. He told them that he had lost two of his three children, Hailey being the only one that truly loved riding and wanted to become barrel racer was his only child left the way he saw it and that both Desiree and Seth had been the biggest disappointments of his life. That his Desiree hard, always having a need to please her father ever since they became close during her barrel racing and building up her fear to disappoint others.
The day Desiree left for Seattle her father just sat in the living room watching tv saying nothing once more. Before she left she made sure that she went in there gave him a big hug and kiss even though he didn’t return it and made sure to tell him that she still loved him. What she didn’t see however after her mother, Hailey and herself had left was her father crying about his first little girl leaving. It was a fair trip, having to drive to Helena to be able to fly directly to Seattle. Her first arrival at the school she was in awe, not having much money she immediately got a job at the local coffee shop and record store, her mother was helping by helping pay half the tuition and contributing a little to her apartment, however still it was tough always trying to make ends meet. However the present Seth sent her as a congratulations present made it all worth it. It was a few weeks into classes and Desiree was already stressed and re-thinking her choice, she came home that day to find her brother waiting in her apartment holding a brand new red telecaster custom electric guitar.
She’s been playing the open mic nights at the local clubs for few years now, still hoping to make it into the big time. She still talks to brother and mother on a regular basis but hasn’t spoken to her father since she left, although she regrets it but hopes that one day he’ll be able to accept both Seth and herself.

Best Memory:
“My best memory would have to be a tie between two things. First off when I was eight and I got third in my very first barrel riding competition. Even though there was no cash prize just the ribbon alone and the fact that my daddy bragged to everyone about it for weeks after made me feel so good. The other memory would have to be the first time I was able to play a full song on the guitar without stopping by memory. Even though it was only twinkle twinkle little star I was still so happy.”
Worst Memory:
“My worst memory was the day I left for Seattle. My dad and I had barely spoken from the day I got my acceptance letter to then, and yes I understand that he was mad at me and everything but it hurt when he wouldn’t even say goodbye. He didn’t even have to say goodbye even an acknowledgment that I was leaving would’ve been better than nothing. When I gave him that last hug and kiss he did nothing, didn’t even look at me, just continued to stare at the tv. It hurt a lot and it still hurts and I just wish he could get it through that thick head of his that I didn’t do this just to spite him. Guess that’s where I get my stubborn streak from.”

`Writing Skill ,,
The bio lab, amazingly enough was probably Odette’s favorite place on campus besides the ballet studio. Just the way everything was so neat and clean, yet waiting and begging to be used to discover something cool and new which wasn’t at all what she was using them for. Actually at the moment Odette was just finishing up an extra credit assignment she’d been working on over the winter break; yeah she’s one of those girls and was very close to being done. It was on spores, mold and fungus and their cellular structure and how rotten things attract them, fun stuff huh? Well weirdly enough it was for her, Odette was fascinated by the specimen she was currently observing under the microscope which was probably unusual to most but then again what did she know? This school was full of surprises, she had learned that with her first encounter with her new roommates, oh that had been fun and also part of the reason she was currently doing all of her work in the lab rather than in the comfort of her own room. The quiet.
The quiet however was soon getting to her as she let out a rather large yawn while jotting down some more notes on the specimen and realized that it was pretty late, she glanced at her watch; wow it was late twelve thirty to be exact and since being up at six that morning to shock work on her project Odette was now feeling the repercussions of that decision. So with one final sentence she finally decided that it was probably time to pack it in. After putting away her specimen and cleaning the microscope and the counter she was really feeling sleepy and was now actually happy to be returning to her dorm an occurrence which hadn’t come often this semester, so as she slipped her books into her book bag, Odette gave the room one last glance over before shutting off the lights and closing the door.
Now you might ask yourself, just how did she get permission to be using the lab so late at night? Well since her teacher knew about the project and Odette had so conveniently put it so that the conditions at her dorm made it impossible to finish her project there; it wasn’t a total lie but enough to make her teacher take pity on her and give her the keys to the lab under the promise that tomorrow morning when he went in there that everything had better look exactly the same and if not then she’ll be the one getting the punishment for whatever happened whether it was her fault or not, so she made very sure to lock the door and with one final yawn began making her way down the hall towards the doors that would lead her outside.
A sound behind her however made her stop, another noise again now made her turn, observing behind her the dark halls as the only light that was on was the one that lit from the bio lab to the door, the rest was blanketed in darkness and therefore Odette couldn’t tell if there was anyone there or not. She took a step her eyes searching the darkness for anything and slowly made her way back to the lab, she tried the doorknob and found it unlocked. Odd considering she could’ve sworn she’d locked it, but maybe she was more tired than she thought she was; bringing the key out of her bag she was just about to lock it again when she just got a feeling that something was off. She gazed through the window in the door into the dark lab debating before taking a deep breath opening the door, turning on the lights and looking around.
“Hello?”
