Name: Levi James Ryder
Nickname(s): N/A
Major: Music
Age: 21
Grade: Senior
Birthdate: May 22nd, 1987
Orientation: Straight
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
`Appearance ,,
In height Levi is pretty average, standing at 5'10". He maintains his weight very well but it's for health reasons, not to look good. His weight must be between 160 and 165 at all times. It's a compulsion. He has very strong cheek bones which people say make him more attractive. His eyes are a bright blue color thanks to both of his parents having lighter eyes. When you look at his hands you can immediately guess which instrument he loves to play the most. Levi has long, slender fingers perfect for the piano. He keeps his nails cut short and manicured constantly. There's nothing more dirty than the kind of ... gunk that collects under a person's nails.
As for dress, he's very well put together. Though Levi doesn't go so far as to wear a suit everyday he does keep himself looking very presentable and wouldn't be caught dead in most of today's "fashion" or whatever they're calling it. Dark jeans (occasionally slacks for more important days) and a loose button down shirt are what you'll normally find him in. Ties make him feel restricted and so he only wears those when necessary. He keeps his hair neat, even though it's a little on the longer side. You'll never find him in a disheveled mess and it's all thanks to his O.C.D.

Worst Feature: "My ears. They're huge."
`Personality ,,
When he was fourteen years old, Levi was diagnosed as obsessive compulsive. There are certain things that he feels like he has to do in order to avoid some kind of tragedy. Though he knows his compulsions are irrational, he can't keep himself from performing the tasks. The number four is his "safe" number and three is "unlucky". Most all O.C.D. sufferers have these two numbers. Some of his compulsions include (but are not limited to): washing his hands four times under scalding water, brushing his teeth four times and four times a day, plays all new piano pieces until he can run through them four times without any mistakes, makes his bed four times when he wakes up and before he goes to sleep, and (on the same note) sleeps for four hours at a time only to wake up to make his bed four more times and then sleep for another four hours. His O.C.D. brings him good and bad days. Some days he runs through his rituals and feels perfectly happy with his life. Other days aren't so good. He stresses, gets depressed, etc.
Around the same time as diagnosed with O.C.D. he was also diagnosed with social anxiety. Levi began treatment for the S.A.D. but he was never able to finish it once his father lost his job and, with it, health insurance. He could've continued on his own once he'd gotten his own insurance but the Paxil that he's on for his O.C.D. makes the S.A.D. practically disappear. Because of this, though, he's not very good with meeting new people and he's very difficult to hold a relationship with (due to both disorders). Levi's terrified to get close to anyone for both a)fear of losing them and b)fear of contracting some kind of ailment from them. He's never even had a first kiss because his O.C.D. makes him fear germs to an irrational extent.
Which leads us to inexperienced. Levi is not only inexperienced in love but in life. He's not had the normal life of someone his age. As a child he never had many friends and as an adult he's got a select few that he feels comfortable around. Levi has never had a serious girlfriend. Girls, though attracted to him, have a hard time dealing with his irrational fears and rituals. They also have a hard time not getting the affection they're dying to get. Levi has a hard time getting close enough to even shake hands. He's well aware that one day it's all going to happen and his world will come crashing down. He's just hoping he doesn't faint in the middle of it. All he really needs is someone who's patient.

Positive Traits:
1. Though he keeps to himself, Levi is a very friendly person. As long as you're patient with him and don't treat him like he's a freak for his O.C.D. habits he's always going to be that person you can depend on. Whether it's a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to or someone to take you out when you're feeling a little bit blue. He's there.
2. There's no one in the world you can trust more than him. Unless someone is in danger, you never have to worry about him spilling something you tell him. He's a great listener and will sit with you for hours if he has to without ever telling anyone else what's going on.
3. Creative. Levi was always intelligent and strived to be perfect throughout highschool but he's also very creative. Music (both playing and writing) come naturally to him but he's also a writer of words. You can usually count on him to come up with something to do when you're bored, too, and that's always nice.
Negative Traits:
1. His compulsions take hours out of his day. He can be considered anti-social because he doesn't always have time to "catch up" with the few friends that he has. His rituals come before anything else and that's definitely a damper on the day.
2. Because of his mild social anxiety, Levi isn't a crowd person. Concerts, parties, etc. None of these appeal to him and you're better off to just leave him to his solitude and take someone else rather than trying to convince him.
3. He comes across as cold and distant when he's around a girl. It's because he's terrified of getting into a relationship and all that comes with it but most people don't know that. Levi lets them think what they want and that's usually that he's just cold.
Greatest Ambition: To one day be treated for both his O.C.D. and his S.A.D. and live freely with no rituals or irrational fears.
Greatest Fear: His first time having sex.
`History ,,
Levi was born on May 22nd, 1987 to Steven and Angie Ryder. He was born on the exact due date his mother was given at exactly noon. She often jokes and tells Levi he was compulsive right from birth. From the time he was little Levi got along with his mom far better than he did with his dad. Angie liked her son the way he was and didn't feel there was anything wrong with him. Steven was always wondering why Levi wasn't more athletic or more outgoing or more girl-crazy like he was in his "day." His parents didn't argue persay but they often had "words" over their son when Steven would get onto one of his "nancy boy" kicks.
Piano lessons started when he was seven years old. Almost immediately he fell in love with it. His mom would sit and listen to him play but his father always wondered why he wasn't doing something else with his time. Steven never understood music or his son. Steven never understood a lot of things. Levi and Angie ignored him for the most part when he started ranting. Levi lived for music after a short time. He'd never really been a social butterfly and he definitely didn't have a group of friends around him all the time. The few people he did talk to he did so mostly in school. Music became an out. He could do it in solitude without feeling weird or abnormal.
It was a few years later (around fourteen) when he was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder (S.A.D.). Around this same time he was also diagnosed as obsessive compulsive. His dad immediately took him to see a specialist who started Levi on C.B.T. (cognitive behavioral therapy). It did nothing for his O.C.D. but his S.A.D. started to disappear. The shyness was still there but he didn't faint everytime someone would approach him and that was definitely improvement.
Steven was constantly trying to set Levi up with his friends' daughters. He figured Levi just needed a push to get himself out there and once he did, he'd see where all the fun was at. Most of the time Levi just denied his dad and shut himself in his room but occasionally he couldn't get out of it and things always ended up awkward. The girls usually ended up disappointed because he wasn't all over them or constantly asking questions about them and he just felt out of place. Yes, they were attractive, and sure he had the urge to see them again but he couldn't. He was terrified at the very thought. Eventually his dad realized his attempts were pointless and he quit. The two (Levi and Steven) came to a sort of understanding.
Highschool was the most awful stage of all. He didn't fit in with the "in" crowds and he was too normal to be in with the freaks and geeks so Levi spent a lot of his time alone. The librarian got to know him pretty well. It wasn't until his senior year that things changed a bit. A music "club" of sorts was started at his highschool and he joined it. The people who joined were all different kinds of people and he for once wasn't the odd man out. It became the one activity he looked forward to. The staff member who ran it advised Levi to apply for WUofA once he graduated and at first, Levi didn't think much of it. He'd planned on going to school for medicine just like his parents had figured on him doing. Then, as the year wore on, he realized he didn't care for science. He excelled in it because he had to and failure wasn't an option but he didn't like it. He also didn't like math. Neither one appealed to him. Music always had and so he applied.
He's been at WUofA for three years and is now a senior at the university. He's twenty-one, probably the only male virgin left on campus, and he's actually not hating life. O.C.D. isn't so bad to have when music's involved. Everyone here strives to be perfect when it comes to that.

Best Memory: Graduating at the top of his class was definitely Levi's best memory. He'd worked all through school to be the best. Everything had to be perfect. Every paper, every test, every assignment. It finally paid off and he was named valedictorian. His dad even seemed happy about it and for the first time his family seemed normal.
Worst Memory: The first girl who tried to kiss him. It ended up incredibly embarrassing for the both of them. He was fifteen and had been able to avoid the moment until that fateful night. He'd met a friend (Arianna) because she'd said she needed help with some math thing. Once they met up, she confessed that she actually just wanted to meet up with him to tell him how she really felt. She could, in her words, "Show better than I can tell." As soon as she leaned in, Levi panicked and ducked away from her and a few seconds later he'd passed out from a severe anxiety attack. She never let him forget.

`Writing Skill ,,
The first week at any new place was difficult but when that place was Hadley there was no comparison. Levi didn't like being around so many people he didn't know and he certainly didn't like living in a building full of strangers. After a week of trying to avoid everyone to no avail, he was finally starting to settle in slightly. He was forced into meeting a few people who had spoken to him and that helped a little. Now there were a couple of people around that weren't complete strangers. He doubted he would ever actually feel comfortable but he doubted anyone here actually did.
Sighing, Levi pulled his comforter and sheets off of his bed for the second time and started making his bed once more. It had been perfectly fine the first time, it had been wrinkle-free the second time, but he couldn't stop there. Four was a charm unfortunately. Flipping out the sheets, he laid them over his bed before he started tucking them at the corners. He couldn't stand having the thing peeking out from under his comforter. It just looked messy. Then he grabbed for his blanket once he was done, flipping it out in the same fashion and laying it on top. After a few minutes of flattening the fabric out, he stripped the bed one more time and repeated the process.
He grabbed for the hand sanatizer on his night stand and squirted some in his palm, rubbing them together before repeating that action three more times. Sometimes he got so sick of the number four it was almost worth committing suicide over. But then he thought about all the different germs he'd be coming into contact with if he tried. It wasn't worth it. Especially if he lived. As he'd probably end up sick, that was a risk he couldn't take.
Levi shook his head and looked over the items on his night stand. Something was out of place but he didn't know what it was yet. His book was sitting where it always did, perfectly lined up with the side of the stand. His hand sanatizer was exactly where he'd picked it up from. The hairbrush he used was the same as it always was. What the fuck was off? Bringing a hand up to his hair, Levi simply stared at the small table. Something was missing. He couldn't fucking place it and that was bothering him more than the fact that it was missing to begin with. His hand grabbed at his hair, completely frustrated now.
"What the fuck is missing?" He was mumbling but his voice almost sounded panicked. It made him feel absolutely ridiculous because he knew it made him look insane. "Book, brush, hand sanatizer... What the fuck is missing?!" How could he not remember? He looked at the goddamn things every day and more than fucking once every day too. His heart started pounding a little harder and his other hand joined the first in his hair, both holding onto handfuls of the brown locks. If he couldn't figure this out, he was fucked. Something was going to happen. He kept four things on his night stand at all times, the same four things. Three was very unlucky and something horrible always fucking happened if it made an appearance.
Feeling a bit more panicked now, he looked around the stand, checking for anything that might've fallen off. Absolutely nothing. There was nothing on his floor, there was nothing lying around. He'd either misplaced it (which was highly unlikely) or someone had taken it. Or something else was fucking going on. He closed his eyes for a second and clenched his jaw. Breathing was getting a bit harder and if he didn't find a way to calm down he was going to end up passing out over a stupid fucking object that was missing. What the fuck was it?
"Watch!" He managed the word out but that was it. He'd already been dizzy and he didn't have time to make himself calm down. What a shame. His knees gave out and he crumpled to the floor beside his bed, eyes closed. His breathing was shallow but it was starting to mellow out as the seconds passed. Eventually he'd wake up, he just hoped a staff member didn't find him in the mean time. They were never happy when he couldn't control himself like this and they always found some new drug regimen to put him on that never did a goddamn thing.
