`Appearance !
It is easy to be fooled into thinking that Lachlan is a good looking boy. He has all the features of the attractive people; clear skin, dark blonde hair, blue eyes and a proportionately toned body. However there is nothing about the boy that truly earns a title of ‘good looking’. That being said, there is nothing to suggest he should be deemed ‘ugly’ either. Lachlan is a big fat average. He’s not a face that stands out, that is of course until he smiles. It isn’t that his teeth are straight, or his smile can make a girl melt, no. It is the warmth that extends to his eyes, and the way you know that he’s completely genuine.
Having a toned physic comes with the territory of being a dancer. Keeping his body at optimum fitness is important for Lachlan. Just the same as if he were an athlete. Which, Lachlan has been known to claim he is, while defending his masculinity to those small minded people who don’t realise the physical strength it took to be a dancer. Lean muscles adorn the young man’s arms and legs. His abdominal muscles small, but defined.
Lachlan is mostly a comfort dresser. Choosing his clothes for practicality and comfort over fashion sense. That isn’t to say, however that he is a bad dresser, or that he wont dress up when the occasion calls. He’s the sort of guy who doesn’t need anything flashy to look respectable. He can work the tee-shirt and jeans look rather well.

Best Feature: “Uh, my smile, or so I’m told.”
Worst Feature: “the fact my eyebrows are a few shades darker then my hair…”[/size]
`Personality !
Lovable
Lachlan is one of those warm, inviting people. It’s hard not to like the young man, considering he’s a lot like a faithful puppy. He’s always got a good thing to say to people, gives out hugs often and he seems to just make people feel at ease by being himself. He loves people almost unconditionally. Of course he may be hurt, but it takes a lot to actually damage severely a relationship with Lachlan Core. Just like a puppy too, he is often full of energy, playful grin planted on his features.
Trustworthy
Lachlan prides himself in being a man of his word. When he says he’ll do something it will get done, and if you tell him something in confidence you can have faith that it will not pass his lips to anyone else. Part of that is his abnormally large conscience. The boy cannot put a toe out of line without the niggling voice in his head screaming at him. though he does have a few ‘youthful indiscretions’ and minor mistakes in his past. Even with the angel on his shoulder, Lachlan is not completely perfect.
Confident
It can never be said that Lachlan has any self esteem issues. He is comfortable with the person he is, and content with his life. While yes, at times the slights on his sexuality and comments and the feminine nature of his chosen major do annoy the boy, they have no real lasting effect on him. He likes who he is, and if someone else doesn’t, well that’s really their loss then isn’t it? At times he can be a little over confidant, leaning towards the cocky end of the scale, however his sheepish grin has always served well in those situations.

Positive Traits:
Affectionate- Unlike a lot of men, who shire away from hugging, Lachlan is really affectionate. He, by male standards at least, is a rather huggy guy and doesn’t think twice about hugging his female friends. Yes, only his female friends. He is comfortable with bodily contact, but not that comfortable that he’ll just up and hug a guy to say goodbye.
Resourceful- Maybe he watched too many old McGiver episodes as a child, but Lachlan is a highly resourceful young lad. Give him a few random items and he’ll be able to make something workable out of them. He’s the sort of guy you’d want on a deserted island actually..
The Hero- It is no secret that Lachlan has a white knight syndrome. He’s chivalrous and gallant and everything you’d expect from the hero in a story book. In fact, he’s a heartbeat away from the sort that rides in on a white horse when someone is in trouble. He just cannot help himself really.
Negative Traits:
Jealous- It’s not the most attractive of qualities. However it has to be said that Lachlan is a jealous young man. He can’t help it and try as he may, he will always be the sort to be unhappy with his girl getting ‘friendly’ with another guy.
Persistent- While this may sound like a good thing, in Lachlan’s case it isn’t. He’s persistent to the point of being a little obsessive. Once he gets an idea in his head, there isn’t much one can do to shake it.
The Hero- Yes, this is a good thing but there is this whole other side to it. Lachlan has an almost obsession with saving people, even when they don’t want it. In particular ‘damsels in distress’. This compulsion to save young women has often seen Lachlan get into a bit of trouble, as he will go to extremes to save them.
Greatest Ambition: Call him old fashioned, but Lachlan’s dearest ambition is to get married and have a family. Crazy right? It’s what he wants though. The old fashioned ideal of life. A wife barefoot and pregnant. Alright, so maybe not a complete nineteen forties ‘woman stay home and don’t work’ thing. In fact, Lachlan might even consider staying home with his children. After a family, he wants to perhaps be a dance teacher. Of course he wants to dance, but he knows dance careers peek before you are thirty so…
Greatest Fear: It is not one certain thing that Lachlan fears, but the idea of facing a problem he cannot fix. Lachlan likes having the control in that respect, and cannot stand being in a situation he cannot solve, or finding a problem of a friend that he cannot fix. I suppose you might say the idea of being a failure when it comes to solving things haunts him. Which in turn causes the young man to strive even harder to fix everything.
`History !
There is really only one (okay two) words that can describe Lachlan Core’s up-bringing; boringly normal. No one molested him. His parent’s didn’t die. He didn’t develop a drug habit because daddy didn’t love him. No. He grew up in an upper middle class home in Suburbia near Chicago with a functional family. Shock Horror. His father was a dentist and his mother was a ‘beauty consultant’ (in other words she was the woman who went to avon parties and told all the women how to look beautiful and tried to sell products.) The most interesting thing about his childhood was perhaps how he grew to be interested in Ballet and dancing.
Like all good stories, it started with a girl. When Lachlan was twelve, he got his first crush on a girl. A beautiful ballerina. She was, in Lachlan’s eyes, perfection. He would have done anything to get her attention, so when one of his friends told him to take an interest in what she was interested in, Lachlan took them seriously and signed up for dance classes. While the love for the ballerina pitted out, a love for something else kindled inside the boy. A love for all things dance. He was actually rather good. A natural, his teacher had said. Sure, his new life path earned the boy a shit-load of jeering, and it wasn’t ideal for picking up girls but it was worth it really.

Best Memory: When he was thirteen, his mother took him and his younger sister into Chicago around Christmas time to see the ballet ‘the nutcracker’. Lachlan had been dancing for about a year at that point and had already endured a lot of slights on his masculinity because of it, but seeing those male dancers, it did something to Lachlan. Arg, not that.. perv. HE’S STRAIGHT. It just showed Lachlan what he could become. Those male dancers were strong and very masculine. It gave him the courage to follow his heart.
Worst Memory: Once Lachlan started high school, the boy did everything he could to keep the fact he was a dancer under wraps. He didn’t want that sort of stigma. However, High school is high school and things don’t tend to stay secret. Half way through his freshman year it came out that he was a dancer, as did the rumours that he was gay. One of the other boys who was actually struggling with his sexuality had thought he had found an ally in Lachlan. The young man, Jase Mackenzie, sought Lachlan out to try and talk to him. The whole conversation was awkward, and just got worse when the poor kid kissed Lachlan. How do you tell a boy scared that being gay is wrong you are straight after he kisses you anyway?
