Nickname(s): Eli, Jude
Major: Music
Age: Eighteen
Grade: Sophomore
Birthdate: July 4

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
`Appearance ,,
At first glance you might just think Eli’s another one of those crazy rocker kids, with his flat-ironed hair and odd style of clothing. His hair is hardly normal, with its sideswept bangs and misplaced blonde streaks and chunks that make it look like a five-year-old threw bleach at the kid’s head. Though on occasion the dye will grow out and he’ll be too lazy to re-do the color, leaving his hair at it’s normal dark brown color. Light brown eyes that sparkle with mischief are always glancing around the room, almost always paired with a smirk or a boyish smile. His features make him look young, and putting them with how he acts just makes him seem more immature and boyish.
He isn’t super tall, standing just below six feet. But he’s still skinny, a faint six-pack hiding underneath his shirt. A slightly scrawny physique is paired with that one hint of muscle definition. With fair skin and lack of body hair, he isn’t the most intimidating of guys one can run in to. Some people might say he looks a little awkward, but he doesn’t agree. He thinks he’s damn sexy, often wearing tight clothing to show off his skinny body and well defined thigh and calf muscles on his legs. The only oddity on his fair skin is his recent tattoo of a skeleton holding a pumpkin, something he got on a whim one night right on the inside of his forearm.

Best Feature: My best feature? Definitely my smile. Girls like, melt over it, I swear to God. I guess it’s got that like, boyish charm that people really like.
Worst Feature: Definitely my hair. It’s crazy if I don’t straighten it, almost ridiculously attractive, if you know what I mean (;
`Personality ,,
Outgoing: Give this boy even just a second of your time and you bet he’ll strike up a conversation with you. Put him in a room full of strangers and he’ll be able to tell you at least one detail on who they are or what they’re like by the time he leaves the room. Meeting people is like a sport or a game for him, and shyness is never considered an option. ‘Too forward’ is a myth, and ‘subtlety’ doesn’t exist for him. If he were to talk about how outgoing he was, you bet he’d say “Shit, I love talking to people. It’s great, since you learn so much about who people are and sometimes even about the world we live in.”
Wild: To put it lightly this kid loves to party. He also loves to cause trouble just for hoots and giggles. Once again, he sees is as some sort of game where the more trouble you can cause, the better time you’ll be having. With all the crazy things he does, most people might even think he’s insane. Truthfully he’s not even sure if he’s completely sane some of the time, but at least he’s sure to have a damn good time. He lives life like there’s no tomorrow, and has pretty much resolved that at the pace he’s currently going he won’t live to see his 30th birthday. He sees life itself as a game, and does the best he can to have a fucking good time. At parties he’ll drink, smoke, do whatever’s available besides that just because he wants to, and he’ll do it until he pretty much collapses out of exhaustion or unconsciousness settles in.
Loose: Modesty isn’t an option for Eli. He loves kissing, flirting, making out, and even sex. It feels good, so he figures he should do it as often as he can. Flirting is something he does all too often, and he’ll sleep with whoever’s up for it. He doesn’t grow attached easily, instead finding the most comfort in wild sexual tension that ends up in one torrid night between him and somebody else. Gender doesn’t matter here, either. He finds beauty in boys and girls, and he’ll pretty much get with whoever’s up for it. But he’ll almost never get serious with someone, since commitment is somewhat of a fable to him.

Positive Traits:
Eccentric: I love doing the unexpected, standing out from the crowd in different ways. Whether it’s the way I dye my hair, act when I’m with friends, or the way I dress, people can often call me eccentric or just a little bit out there. Sometimes they’ll even say I’m crazy, but that’s just ridiculous. It’s not my fault I get these awesome ideas and just have to go around sharing them to whoever I come across. It’s good to stand out and be a little different, and truthfully it helps me break the ice with strangers the most, since I don’t really end up caring what they think of me anyways.
Intelligent: Give a piece of paper, a pen, and a problem and I’ll be able to solve it. I know it sounds like I’m being a pompous dick, but something about my brain just makes it easy to figure out solutions to problems. Of course this comes with its downsides of having a sarcastic way about me because I’m so witty! Man, I’ll stop sounding so full of myself. But I do take pride in how fast I can learn things and solve things.
Musical: Oh man I love everything that has to do with music. Singing, playing guitar, deciphering hidden messages in the songs, the history of what shaped music to what it is today…I love learning whatever I can about it, and am currently focusing on singing and guitar. I’ve been told I’m pretty good at it so that’s a complete plus. I just love the way music makes everyone feel, so I love having it as a part of my life. I learn fast, too, so that helps with different instruments.
Negative Traits:
Sarcastic: I don’t see why this is a bad trait. But apparently people say it’s a huge turn-off for me. Whatever, they just can’t appreciate my true genius and wit which often takes its form in sarcasm. I’ll end up stabbing at someone with maybe a cruel joke or say something that offends them, even if it’s pretty much true. I’m sarcastic most of the time, since I just can’t seem to stop myself from saying something in that all-too-familiar tone.
Non-Commital: Ugh, what is it with this nation and commitment? Everything’s about commiting. Sticking with one single option and closing all those other doors that if you remain uncommitted, end up staying open for you. It’s just such a hassle with all this pressure from the media and my family, even the government. I’d rather just ignore that whole aspect of life, thanks.
Says the Wrong Things at the Wrong Time: What do you expect? With all the talking I do you can be sure my lips go faster than my brain thinks. I’ll try to make a joke about something to lighten the mood somewhere, and next thing I know I’ll have a thousand angry eyes staring at me. It’s amazing how touchy people can be, I mean really. I guess they can’t handle jokes about AIDS or the war going on, despite how funny they really are. I think it’s because people have no sense of humor and are all wayyy too uptight.
Greatest Ambition: To one day be famous and tour the world singing for a big name band.
Greatest Fear: Becoming too old to take care of himself and forgetting who he is.
`History ,,
Eli wasn’t born in to the best of lives. Although they weren’t the poorest people around, they certainly weren’t the richest. His parents had somewhat of a tough life, but they tried to make everything as good as they could for their children. Truthfully, both Martin and Laurie Ross weren’t up for having another kid besides their already older Rachel. But of course when news came from Laurie that she was pregnant once more they couldn’t help but rejoice. With blessings and extra help from both of their parents, Laurie and Martin began preparing the small townhouse for their new arrival.
Nine months later little Eli was welcomed in to the world with open arms. As Laurie went on maternity leave, Martin ended up working overtime to make up for the lost money and time. They made due the best they could, Martin coming home late and leaving early. As Eli grew older things became easier, since Laurie could now return to work and Martin could finally stop picking up the slack. Rachel would watch Eli when she could, but for the most part Laurie’s mother would look after him during the day. It wasn’t the most glamorous life, especially when they couldn’t pay their mortgage and had to move back in with Laurie’s mother, since she had an empty house for herself. They made due, like they always did. Rachel eventually got old enough to head to community college, and Eli found comfort in his grandfather’s old guitar during the high school years. Especially at his school since it seemed money meant everything, and when people found out that he came from a less than favorable monetary position, they teased him endlessly.
Ignoring them for the most part and instead simply persuing singing and guitar, he eventually found other kids who liked the same things as he did, somehow forming a band with them and competing in local battle of the bands competitions. The more he played the more he realized he wanted to persue a career in what he and his friends were doing for fun. He’d applied to various music schools, even Julliard (like he’d ever get in and afford to pay its tuition), before landing on Washington University of the Arts. They’d offered him a half-ride on scholarships, the best offer he’d gotten out of all his schools. Taking out numerous loans to cover the rest of the tuition he packed up his bags and headed west.
Now only a year in to his studies at WUoA, he’s happy as can be. Although he’s gotten a little out of control with alcohol and drugs, he’s still on top of his schoolwork because he loves his major and classes. He’s still on half-ride and school loans, working on and off campus to cover other expenses, unlike most people around him. But he doesn’t really care what people think, now does he? He just lives his life the best he can and makes the most out of what he has.

Best Memory: This is going to sound corny but my best memory is when I met my really close friends, Ashton, Aaron, Cole, and Randy and we ended up forming a band. We all had different musical skills and we just meshed in like the most magical of ways. Although we’re all crazy and probably a little headstrong, somehow we all became closer than ever. Our band was really rocking, too. We won a few battle of the bands competitions in Baltimore, even opening for some kind of big names. Man, I don’t know what I’d do if all five of us hadn’t met and formed the band. I wouldn’t be here now, that’s for sure.
Worst Memory: Oh, man, this one time when I was playing with my high school band in the Battle of the Bands? First off we didn’t even place, and this girl who I’d been kind of seeing all of the sudden started flipping out at me over who knows what. Turns out she thought we were official, and I’d gone and hooked up with a girl at a party about a week ago. But my god, this girl was crazy. She was screaming at me and all of a sudden like snapped and went psycho ex-girlfriend on me when we weren’t even together. She’d like follow me around, make my life hell, you know, all that crazy shit girls do just to mess with us and somehow make us want to take them back. I don’t know what was her problem. She even broke my guitar one day. My fuckin’ guitar. Do you know how much it cost to replace it? She destroyed it beyond repair…Anyways after a while she gave up since I’d obviously stopped caring. Her name? Oh, shit I don’t know I forgot. And yeah, I realize this story had nothing to do with Battle of the Bands except that her spiral into insanity happened that same night. Did I mention that before?

`Writing Skill ,,
For some reason it felt like a good night to go see a drive-in movie. The holidays tended to bring a good round of movies to see, and somehow Fairfax got their hands on some of the newest releases of the season. The ones that Colin most wanted to see were playing that night, so he figured he’d call Bailey to treat him to a movie and a night outside. The sky was clear and the air was warm enough to sit in the back of his car and cuddle with each other. After a few distractions and a joint or two, he picked up his phone and called Bailey.
Their conversation was short, and ended with the other agreeing to go to the drive-in, and Colin saying he’d pick him up in a little bit. With that all said and done, he quickly got himself ready, putting on a nice outfit and taking time to straighten and slightly style his hair so it wasn’t a complete rat’s nest. Taking a quick look in the mirror before getting everything he needed to head to the drive-in. It was quiet in his apartment since Luke went on a family trip to Spain, but Bailey had offered for him to stay with them for the length of Luke’s absence. He hated to impose but the other had made it hard to say no, so he figured after these next few days he’d pack up a small duffel with clothes and his drugs before going to stay there.
His car was fairly clean, and the hatchback trunk would make it easy for them to sit and watch the movie, though they still had the task of deciding which of the most recent movies they should see. But they had plenty of time, since he hadn’t even started the car when he began to worry about it. Finally getting the car started and putting on a recent mix he’d made, he turned the volume up and rolled the windows down to make the drive go by faster, almost missing the turn he’d taken so many times to Aunt Beryl’s house.
He’d written down the movies that were playing and what times they started on his hand, checking them as he stopped the car and comparing those times to the one on the digital display. Plenty of time to get to the drive-in and decide what movie to see, but first he had to actually get to Bailey’s door and get back in to the car. Half-running half-walking to the door, hands in his pockets as fingers played with the keys before they emerged to knock on the door in front of him. Waiting patiently, he checked his palm absently once more before placing both hands back in to his pockets. He was excited and nervous, in a child-like manner to tell the truth, since it had been a long time since he’d been on something even resembling a date.
Taking a deep breath he let blue eyes focus on the painted door in front of him, eagerly awaiting for it to open and to get the night started.
