Name: Bethlehem Leah Bontreger
Nickname(s): Beth, Betsy, Bethleah, Bon-bon
Major: Music
Age: 19
Grade: Sophomore
Birthdate: December 16, 1989
Orientation: Straight
Location: San Fransisco, CA
`Appearance ,,
Bethlehem has dark brown hair (though some would argue it is black, she is adamant it is dark brown). It is relatively straight, but in a scraggly way unless tamed. It has varied in length and sizes and she isn't afraid to try something new; currently Beth has side swept bangs and shoulder-length hair with layering. She doesn't like a bunch of hassle over her hair and would rather it be quick and easy to fix than extravagant and time consuming.
Bethlehem's eyes are brown and average size, though she expresses her emotions through them. Sometimes it is by accident and other times on purpose, but her eyes get big and small depending on her mode and reactions. She has a normal nose really not worth mentioning. Her lips are very full and provide her with a brilliant smile when she shows off her pearly whites. Beth is about average height standing five feet, four inches. She has a slender feminine figure, a well proportioned and healthy body.

Best Feature: "Personally, I like my face the most, not really just my lips or cheeks or eyes or anything but I like how it all works together. And it made me look really cute when I was a tot."
Worst Feature: "My height. I'm not a munchkin or anything but if I had the kind of genes that would add a few inches, it would make my day."[/size]
`Personality ,,
»Independent
Bethlehem knows how to stand on her own. After her parents divorced, the pressure of constantly being shuffled around caused her to rely on herself for "survival" rather than her mother or father. Because of this, she has become confident that she doesn't need anyone else and will never need anyone else. She is rather stubborn, preferring to do things on her own and her own way. Though she had to "grow up" quicker than most, she still retained a childlike way about her. Some judge this side of her as immature, but she's just a girl who knows how to have fun.
»Outgoing
Bethlehem isn't afraid to do anything. She loves to have fun, even if it's crazy or might get her into trouble. Anything rollerskating through an outdoor mall to dancing in the rain. Though she isn't a "life of the party" kind of girl, she's great to hang out with if things look dull. She is very witty but also sarcastic. Sometimes she comes off as harsh, but when she things of something brilliant to say, she can't hold it in. Despite her outgoing personality, she normally has enough wits about her to realize when it's time to stop messing around.
»Closed-Off
Even though Bethlehem isn't afraid to have a little fun, she is afraid of relationships. Because of her parent's own marital struggles - including the divorce - she doesn't feel confident that any relationship she pursued (whether romantic or friendly) would end well. She has convinced herself that she is better off having shallow relationships than having deep, meaningful relationships that may or may not cause heartache. It's a chance she has refused to take and thus is not very open with her feelings. Over the years, she has learned to cover her emotions with lies, deceiving others to believe certain things about her personally that aren't complete truths. Following, most of her songs show no real depth, at least not the ones she shares. Besides her main music instructor, no one has ever read the lyrics of her most treasured songs that reveal her heart.

`History ,,
The perfect match. That's what everyone was saying on the video tape that recorded the magical day of Mr. Drew Bontreger and Ms. Annie Kent's marriage. However, no matter how many times Bethlehem watched the video tape, it never seemed to change reality. After four children and fourteen years of marriage it came tumbling down and lay broken, for not even all the king's horses and all the king's men could mend it.
Beth was born in December, just a week or so before Christmas as if she was an early gift. Because of this, she was named Bethlehem after the location of the Nativity. She already had an older brother, Martin, who was three years old. She learned to walk and talk at the same rate as other children, though she was always fascinated with anything that made unusual and loud noises. When she was two, her mother gave birth to twins: Emily and Kaitlyn. Mr. Bontreger had a great job, making plenty of money to provide private schooling for the kids and a big house with a yard. They were living the American dream.
And then the dream ended. Bethlehem celebrated her ninth birthday and four months later her father lost his job. Budget cuts that made times rough for their family. They moved to a smaller neighborhood, changed schools, did everything to survive. Her parents fought every night. Her mother blamed her father, her father blamed her mother. No one was happy. Then she left. The papers were signed another four months later.
The next eight years consisted of Beth and her siblings going from house to house, a week here, a weekend there, never knowing which parent had their best interest in mind. Through it all, Beth discovered her love for music, especially song writing. Through a program at her school she was able to take a few piano lessons. From there she was on her own, learning what she could on the old piano her mother had inherited from her great-grandmother. She was active in the school chorus all through middle and high school.
Finally, she graduated. She had already set her sights on WUA, the only problem was getting there. With the help of financial aid and many scholarships, she was able to acquire enough funds to get her through schooling, even though there would still be plenty of Student Loans to pay off in the end.

Chloe sat in the courtyard of the school. It was a little past four-o’clock in the afternoon last time she had check the time. Classes were out and the dinner bell was schedule to ring in about two hours. Until then, Chloe had to entertain herself. She wore nothing spectacular. Just a pair of dark-wash jeans, a pale pink camisole and a cream-colored cardigan. Her hair was half-pulled up with several strands loose around her face, including her bangs. The pale pink ballet-style shoes she had worn lay on the ground while her feet were curled up underneath her. She sat on the ledge of the large fountain Indian-style, conscious of the water behind her and careful not to fall backwards into it. But her mind was focused on the camera in her hands.
She had just finished taking several shots of the small garden patch in front of her, trying to adjust the camera's settings for the lightning available right then. It was slightly overcast...perfect for taking pictures. She rolled through the shots she had taken, not her best but they weren't meant to be. Adjustment shots. On the top-right corner of the viewing screen a low battery signal began to blink. She rolled her eyes, remembering that she was supposed to charge the thing last night. She looked through the camera bag that sat to the right of her. Bingo! Her back-up battery. She quickly installed it.
Unfolding her legs, Chloe slipped her feet into her shoes. Her eyes remained focused on the camera. she stood and walked a couple steps forward before turning around and holding the camera up to the face, looking through the viewer. A blur ran past her and she pulled her vision away from the camera to see some speedy Gonzales race by her. She scrunched up her nose, tempted to yell out at him. But she wasn't that outgoing. She put the camera up again. The light of the sun was glistening off the water in the fountain like untouchable diamonds that shined and dazzled as stars do in the sky. She snapped a shot. Then seven more from different tilts and angles.
She was satisfied. She scrolled through the photos she had just taken with a pleased smile on her face. Then she turned to start walking to her next location. She should have been watching where she was going. WHAM! She was on the ground, pain shot through her knees all the way up to her elbows. She winced at the pain but it seemed to reside when she noticed that her camera had somehow landed safely in the grass. She sighed some relief at that and stood. Picking up her camera she turned to see what she had fallen over. "What?" she wondered aloud in shock to see nothing behind her that should have hindered her walking.
